Lucifer doesn't know what he's talking about. Rock never dies, indeed. He seeks adulation - rock is about expressing admiration, for the music, the feelings it inspires in you, and the connection it helps you build with those who feel the same. Leave it to the Devil to not relate to the empathy of music. Perhaps, instead of adopting 'it's better to burn out than to fade away' as a philosophy, he should have a cry about his father issues and start to heal. As Paul Simon said, 'sometimes even music cannot substitute for tears'. I'm reminded of Crowley in the S8 finale, passionately pleading 'I deserve to be loved!' In that moment, part of him did - the part that wanted to know where to start to even look for forgiveness. Lucifer doesn't deserve to be loved, as he's unwilling to love in return. One dad who paid more attention to his 'garage project' (to quote Tom Ellis's Lucifer, meaning humans) than his son doesn't justify all these murders, all these people who are to Lucifer as are flies to wanton boys. To quote another Paul Simon song, titled 'Loves Me Like A Rock': 'When the Devil called my name, I'd say "who do you think you're fooling?"'
