New drinking game: Take a shot for every time you rolled your eyes in this reaction. Upon completion of the episode, you “Can’t believe it”, yet you “Can believe it”, which, yeah, that’s a fair description. Overarching thing is Mick’s arc. Interesting to get the glimpse of the years when he was a boy. Madame Hess is establishing herself a hateful bitch right away. The whole two enter, one leaves thing had me saying, “What is this place Korriban or something? Are we trying to be the Sith here?” Later, when Madame Hess says the word “assimilate”, and I note, “And now we’re trying to emulate the Borg, grand.” Her scenes make me greatly miss Curtis as Metatron. He was that love to hate character, I miss him. Lovely to see Shoshannah as our dear Eileen again, nice to see that you were happy to see her again. We both caught the sparks between Sam and Eileen. Dean did too, and it’s rather sweet how one very small remark aside, he never gives Sam shit for it. I’ll ship it. I mean, this episode settles it with Sam/Eileen, I am shipping the hell out of it. Feel bad for Kelly, Dagon showing her true colors is quite the scene. Then there are the scenes with Lucy and Crowley. Shared praise for both Marks. Actually, took me a second to think to ask about the precise Mark, saying, “Which one?” and you even made note of that yourself. I would hope that Crowley knows that Lucy’s act is bullshit, if not, then I’m beginning to understand Mark’s complaints about this season. Good on Crowley for killing the one demon. You “got to give it up” as you describe. Love how you said the same when Dean says that you can’t compliment the bad guys. One is a fool if you don’t, when warranted, that is. You say that you had no words following the development of Mary and Ketch having sex. Fine. Here’s my words that I said when seeing that scene, I said, “Oh, that son of a bitch! Boys, the next time you see him, you both shoot him in the fucking head on general goddamn principle!” Yeah, you do feel bad for Eileen for shooting the one pompous prick, pompous prick though he is, and certainly no one gave a rat’s ass about his school status. Love how Dean’s ready to throw down when Mick raises the gun, and MASSIVE props to Sam for his idealism, and you see Mick is taking it to heart. Shame that Madame Hess is now more inclined to listen to Toni, which makes me ask, “And perchance, did the Lady Bevell happen to mention about the, what was essentially rape, that she subjected Sam to, may I ask?” As mentioned on youtube, the “absolute” line got the reaction out of both of us. I make the comparisons to the Sith, and even THEY aren’t QUITE this overzealous about their code, which their code is more what you’d call guidelines than actual rules. Mick had one pretty damned impressive and impassioned speech, which is sadly cut short. Was not expecting to get hit hard by your reaction to Mick’s death. You got me on that one, Jess. Rather like how Madame Hess and Ketch are now both on your shit list. Now Madame Hess wants the hunters exterminated, making me note, “Well, either you want to be the Sith, the Borg or the Daleks. Which is it, lady? Make up your goddamn mind here!” And, oh, right, I got super LIVID when she said that they were planning to kill Eileen, saying, “ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT!!” Quick question with that: Toni’s evil lady torturer sidekick who got killed by Mary, she’s what, chopped liver? If the rules are that strict on retaliation for killing a British man of letters, (or woman, as the case may be,) why no response on that one? Regardless, a fun reaction. And no worries about the sirens. Sirens going off, as usual, I just take a second to ascertain where the sound’s coming from. No problem. It happens. Thanks for the reaction, Jess.
