Hello, The art has changed. Tapas has updated versions where here we get the originals. I tend to read chapters 1 through 10 on Tapas, and then come here to read chapters 11 to the current updates.

When is the update ?" and I know, when I myself read my own comic, that you (not you YOU, you obviously are really attentive to details I put in it) - that you don't see that I care about everything lol. People just see the main thing (face and position of the character) and the dialog. When I actually drew and cared about every hair, folds, contrasts... and it's a lot of work. I'm going, to be honest with you, that was horrible and does not make Terra likable at all. You may have wanted to ease the darkness in. A story that switches tack so fast is off-putting. Also, it seems unlikely that the boy would ever condone a human being capable of such actions. Violence and cruelty have levels and going from comical to disturbing so fast, changes the story dramatically At best that oft leaves readers confused and at worst, not coming back. Don't take this as a negative crit, I'm just giving some advice from experience and of course, you are free to ignore it. The art is of course exceptional. Though you may have wanted to keep Terra back in the scene as this makes him very deplorable and unlikable or at least show some after guilt. I point to the way Square handled the Turks in ff7 remake. For me personally, I found the scene very disturbing and I read Berserk. The difference is given above. There is an excellent saying in writing, "start as you mean to go on" I'm only saying this as I wish to see you excel and as always you are free to tell me to go forth and multiply lol :)

Hey ! Thank you for your comment , love having your thought! I'm not worried, the feedback seem positive; and reading your comment make me think I managed to do what I wanted to do. That scene was necessary because what's come next is worse (not gore tho?). That's how it works: it gives a hint of what is coming, so the actual rest of the story doesn't look unexpected. I always said this story is a drama. I mean a REAL drama, not a bad love story or anything. I don't read many BL, but I want this one to be different. The fact that this moment surprises you is a good point ! One of the biggest inspiration for this story (and just my way of writing stories lol) is a famous french book called "L'écume des jours". It has nothing to do with theB&W but the vibes is similar: the book start with a very wtf story, nothing makes sense and it's pretty funny, even if pretty quickly you know something bad will happen, but as the story is fucked up, it's hard to tell. And at the middle of the book, it start to get so dark, I mean one of the saddest thing I've ever read. TheB&W will get funny and cute again right after this scene tho. It's not the right moment for sadness yet - About the Boy, well he just doesn't know about it. So far, his behavior shows us he doesn't realize how serious things are (in chapter 1, 2 and 4!) there's nothing I do unintentionally lol.

About Tera feeling guilty, that's also how it works: characters evolve, that's the point of a story. You wouldn't feel him change if he was all kind and sweet from the beginning! Just give the story some time lol, it's just the begining ;)

I didn't like the last scene but then it would be weird if I did. That scene was to illustrate the cruelty of Terras gang and particularly the leader. It was a scene of impact, not a scene to be enjoyed. In Final Fantasy 7 the Turks drop the plate of the city on orders from the president, killing 50.000 people. In the original, they show no guilt at all but in the remake, it's shown that they feel guilty and torn and question the orders of their superiors. Their leader says that if they had not done it, someone else would have. This shows a greater layer of depth for the characters.

Wow. At firts moment I thought it's too much. I mean, how can we sympathize Tera after that? Also the previous comics was light even in dark places. But then I thought again. And now I suppose it's really a new level. Not "light and funny story about two", but more... adult story. With pain and death. Like it is in real world. Also Tera is in Black Death. We knew it since the beginning. But we saw the story from the Boy's point of view and he's not so serious in life. Black Death is really... death. They don't kick cats, they do much more terrible things. And Tera is in Black Death. By now that is his life. He's not so nice guy, he just could be nice (but we love him!). It would be interesting to see how his views would be changing with the Boy.

However, after your comments and reading this I realize that we are seeing the dark place Tera is right now and I look forward to see his growth as we go forward. As well, I started to rethink what I had seen of the boy and I get the feeling he isn't as "cute and adorable" as we think he is. First of all, I really like your drawing style and character design. I like the look your comic has. Having read up to the last update you posted I have to say, that even though I understand what you are trying to do with your plot progression, I see no way your character can redeem himself in my eyes. Only days ago I watched a documentary about a woman who had been set on fire and having seen actual surveillance footage of her fighting for her life and crawling to a water puddle and trying to extinguish herself, seeing footage of her in hospital and watching an interview with her afterwards, where she described what all of this felt like (not pain, but emotion wise) for her, I have to say, that even though the main character is good looking and supposed to be the romantical interest of the boy, in my eyes he will remain a monster. Sorry. That is just a bit too much to get over.

I am aware of what you are trying to do with the plot and the reasoning why you choose to show how cruel the group is and please don't think I want you to change anything. This is your story and only you get to decide what happens. Even so, I couldn't help but feel sick reading the last update, because it reminded me so much of the documentary and actually seeing a real person going through what your fictional character goes through, made me very upset. I know that it is a fictional story and that this are not real people, but the same way I can't feel sympathy for alcoholics (no matter how sad their life story) and I can't watch/read stories about cancer (no matter how great the story telling). I understand you want to show the emotional state of mind of Tera, but I just can't see how any future progression, excuses or makes better what he did there. I can't help but think how devastated and upset the daughter, the mother, the father, the siblings, the friends, etc. of the man must be when they not only find out he was murdered but also that he was burned alive. Yes, it's only fictional, but these thoughts come up when I read that scene. Sorry. :(

Never underestimate people's attachments to fictional characters, for some, it is as intense as real people. And people often view fiction with their real-life points of view. It's why it might be best to not have Tera light the banknotes. If he is an onlooker then he is complicit in inaction only but the other way, he almost directly murdered him and that is much harder to forgive, particularly if his journey is self-redemption. It is entirely up to you and you may want the character to be more controversial.

I can‘t agree more. I thought about it and it’s different being a bystander or an active participant. Yes, you can be in a bad place and be emotional deadened, not trying to help or just ignoring what is going on, but actually participating is something different. To me it differentiates between someone being redeemable or not. In my opinion there is no exceptable reason (except maybe self-defense) for killing another person. Once more, yes I am aware that these are fictional characters and that this is a comic, but for me there is no coming back from what Tera did. Sadly I can't tell you more about all of that, as it's a part of the script (or I wouldn't have put it in). Let just say Tera will be confronted with the consequences of his bad deeds, and that's what make him change. Because I think people can change, thank god. One thing: In these scene, it shows they are not emotionally involved in what they're doing (killing). And I think THAT'S the point. At least for Tera: he doesn't even realize what he's doing anymore. Why ? Because he's facing a random man, that he doesn't know personally, used like a tool. Nothing actually confronts him with the horror of what he's doing. You just have to figure out that it's like eating meat or using cosmetics tested on animals: until you've been shown the horror of slaughterhouses and so on, you won't truly figure out that it's questionable. This is where Tera is right now. (ooh, proud of my explanations lol). What confuses me is: do you still like the Boy and the Wolf or is it a no-no for you ? XD

I can absolutly understand your reaction to the burning scene. During an intership I had some years ago (I was 17) I was some weeks assigned to a prosecutor for criminal gangs. The result: we had to go to a pathological institute. He drove there while I read the files and he askt me in front of the building if I want to go in. The scenery might not be something for little children. I went with him. If you see a violated corpse on a cold steel bar covered with a green blanket you are about to go down. I had seen amputated arms, legs and one of my friends jumped infront of a train days before Xmas. But ths is another level of...going down. You know that this person infront of you lived and made one horrrible choice and payed with its life. The victim had barely any noticable human features and during the whole ride back we said no word. The accused was a 25 year old man who grew up with horrible parents (child abuse to a never believed extend). He said he couldn't sleep a night since the death of the victim. This is why I can not only see the bad in the actions of Tera. Yes, one day he will have to face the consequences of his actions (either in this world or the next one), but no one is bad by birth. Their is always on stone setting this shit in motion. And if I would have to guess: the relation of the boy and Tera is very similar. The boy is for Tera something like a redemption that is out of reach for him. He is afraid (if the story continues as I expect) of the boys reaction: he burned a man alive for money/punishement, he robbed at least one bank, he commited horrible crimes. And yet Tera saved the boy from the pizza delivery guys as well as from his own fear. And this gap between Teras actions is so imense that Tera himself can't find a way out. The boy might be his only bridge from is criminal past out to be more normal and less a monster (althoug his common name means monster, the question is if the monster can change). And that is Teras own demon he has to face: fear of not getting his own redemption (the boy). He knows that he is his only chance to change before either getting caught or worse (the boy saved him once from a bullet, but he shouldn't risk it a second time). Either way: Tera is not only because of his look so interesting (5 years of training at least) but his character and psychological traits are more than enough to make the story heartbreaking in each way. P.S.: Sorry for the long post. P.P.S.: I am from Germany so please be gentle with my mistakes and grammatical misconstructions. I learned french once but if my teacher or mother will find out that it is rotten to the core I might not see sunlight till I speak pefect french again.

If you wanna know: Tera describes me really good. Sum it up: shitty childhood, outsider, three broken rips, broken wrist, nice hunt through facebook and all of this between my 12 and 14 year. I am i this terms quiet cold hearted. Not sever cold hearted but more like a walking ice block (my friends describe me as ,,The iceblock that sunk the Titanic"). But honestly: I am not the person you would expect to have much of a big heart for anyone else than family and real close friends. I wouldn't care if someone around me dies while I am standing next to him. Long story short: I am a psychological shipwreck waiting for sinking. Surprisingly this is the reason why I am quite good at analysing people and their behavior around me. It is like a curse and a blessing at the same: good marks for the tradeoff of losing what makes us human: emotions and feelings. I donÄ't know why it is that way but you learn to deal with it. I think that it is the same with Tera: he learned to adapt to a world around him and meet their expectations but yet to distanced to find and feel comfort in this very world around him that shaped him how he is today. And yet he is stuck in there because of his own actions that were forced on him by this world. A never ending cycle of despair, loneliness and helplessness. The boy is like a rope: if it rips there is neither someone else willing to help him nor the world around him will ever accept him. He knows that he will vanish in the darkness of the city of lights, love and wonder. If you think about it, it is quite ironic: traped in darkness in the city of light, alone in the city of the lovers and the loved one and hoping for a one time, maybe never accuring wonder.

But please: don't worry. I've managed to live this way for a great time now, the rest should work as well. :) Anotation about the outfit. First of all: you are the first one who canges the appearance of his characters. In ch.02/03 Tera had something like black zip jumsuit (which is most of the time bad for movement; I surf during summer and if you press yourself into a neopren with only one zipper it gets quite...ridiculous sometimes), but in ch.05/06 he had a black pullover (crew neck) with his black bomber jacket with a hood (Schott orAlpha Industries, both produce black bmbers with hoods; in case of a leather jacket it would be either Oakwood, Serge Pariente or some other samller brands). The shoes are propably Nike SB. Good for skating, nice grip, flexible and match the sole. And yes, I loked for this. Some things sting me in the butt and I can't stop until I found what if wanted (Smartphone: iPhone 11 Pro (not that cheap but very good quality, Tera has an eye for this).

And yet there is something bugging me much more than Teras search for redemption. In ch.06 the boy talked about his past. He read (like propably 95% of the peolpe here) the Hunger Games. His desire and his paring is quite interesting: while Tera is a person who has, from an outsiders view, so much power the boy is a person who seeks for at least a little bit of it. Not for surpressing other but to be free. Bow and Arrow. The bow is in the right hands an extremly powerful weapon. And you have all this power just under your fingertips. The arrow on the other hand is unstoppable. Once released it either hits his mark or falls to the ground due to lack of force and power. The boy secretly admires Tera for his power, not in the brute force (okay, as well for this, Tera could easily use the bow and would even use to much force) but in the aspect of freedom, individuality and unlimited expression. If you think about it: the one seeking for love and comfort finds exactly this person due to his dark side and finds out that exactly this person is looking for the power he wishes to never have had. If this won't get funny...I'll get the popcorn. Sry, bad fire joke.

i really appreciate how you dont make light of gangs here! in many stories, the “Bad Boy” is in some gang but they don’t really do anything other than beat people up. tera just killed like 10 people without a word and it speaks to how comfortable he is with murder that really shows how deep he is with Black Death. i can’t wait to see how you try to redeem him/make him a character that deserves a happy ending!

I'm really sorry you feel like that, Trust me it wasn't an easy decision for me too; before I started the comic, I wasn't sure I could do it, I was afraid of the amount of work, etc. When I decided to "restart" it, I felt like I was loosing all the efforts I put in it. Your first draft seemed more pilot anyway, giving us a look into the characters and how their relationship dynamic will be without really giving away what will really happen in the actual story. I really like them both! You are extremely talented. The vibes and writing style in the first draft where fantastic and I did notice in the second draft the writing wasn't as confident, but considering you freaking redid everything so quickly [ninja], I am not worried, just make sure to bring that same gumption and punch from the first over to the second! And have faith in yourself! You are doing brilliant. If you did it once you can do it again. It always takes a bit to gain your bearings when doing something different but our confidence is with you and you will be back to it in no time.
