Don't Fall Away and Leave Me to Myself | Sacred Symbols, Episode 380

If you're a regular purchaser of games, you're a stark minority within the very industry you know and love. We've known all about the revenue-related trends directing games as of late, but recent data indicates things are far more dire than they seem, particularly if you're a single player purist. For instance, a third of gaming consumers purchase less than one game a year; 12% buy one game a year; 18% buy two games a year. Only 14% of players buy at least one game a month! Yet, there's more money flowing than ever. Like, lots more. What gives? A migration of customers and their habits, of course! We discuss. Other news this week includes a brief Mark Cerny video celebrating Sony's collaboration with AMD for PlayStation 6, the reemergence of Marathon with invites to an NDA'd closed test, the bluest DualSense controller you could possibly imagine, rumors of a cancelled Reconstruction-era Assassin's Creed, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Could Sony be on the precipice of adding to its family of first party studios? Is there a potential unfilled niche for medical-themed titles? Does PlayStation need to spin-up a new loyalty program? Forget about your favorite color. What's your favorite shape? I would love to hear Micah's unfiltered take on Argath's bitch ass

I'm glad I decided to wait to play Ghost. All the trailers made it look way to similar to the first. I just played the first one in July so being burnt out after jumping straight into the sequel seemed likely.

I can attest that the Playstation Concert were way off on the ticket pricing here in Sweden. In April this year, the video game concert Score was held in Berwaldhallen, one of the most prestigious concert halls in Sweden. The music was performed by Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sweden's equivalent to The BBC Symphony Orchestra, together with Swedish Radio Choir. The most expensive tickets costed 455 SEK. Now compare this to the Playstation Concert which was planned to take place in Scandinvaium, an Ice Hockey arena. Meaning way worse acoustics and way worse seatings than a dedicated concert hall. For this unproven concept with an unknown orchestra in a worse venue, the most expensive tickets costed 1 362 SEK. Almost three times as much! No wonder they had to cancel.

Can y'all just stop talking about the touchpad on the controller, because clearly you all can't come to terms with the obvious fact that it's extremely functional and it can be used in many different ways. Just because most devs don't use it doesn't mean it's not really good. Which it is.
