Lord Cognito's Japanese Pilgrimage | Sacred Symbols+, Episode 482

Please welcome Lord Cognito of Defining Duke and ILP fame to Sacred+. Recently, Cog traveled to Japan for nearly two weeks, and while it was actually his second trip to the country (he previously did a very brief media voyage there for Ninja Gaiden 4), it was the first one of any real substance. Now, every (especially old-school) gamer dreams of going to Japan; it's long been a rite of passage for enthusiasts from around the world. And now that Cog's spent some substantive time there, I (Colin) knew I had to pick his brain about his experience. So join us as we walk through the finer details of the Iron Lords' trip to the far east, Cog's experience in Akihabara and at Tokyo Game Show, what traveling and lodging was like, the interesting social mores and unavoidable awkward moments, the amazing food, and much more. This was a great conversation we think you're really going to enjoy.

I’m disappointed the thumbnail isn’t Cog in a Kimono. PS Dustin, I haven’t heard you talk about Japan enough - wish you were on this one!

Great episode. If Matty and Cog did stop covering Xbox if the brand collapses you could do a mixture of a sports podcast and a sports games podcast. They talk about sports that week, and then have a section in each episode where they talk about a retro sports game as well or something like that to merge the two forms.

I’m not even particularly a huge sports fan but I feel like Matty and Cog working general sports into their pod would actually be interesting in the greater LSM picture

I don't know if I can watch this without getting envious. Much love to you, Cog!

Japanese subways actually have paid attendants who help push people into the doors when the trains are packed.
