NOTE: We've decided to delay Sacred Symbols until tomorrow to include a pickup. Sorry for the change in schedule.
It's me, Colin! Please welcome Rhys Elliott of Alinea Analytics back to Sacred Symbols+. Back in early July, Rhys joined me for his first foray into the world of Sacred+, and at that time, we delved deep into sales data, consumer trends, and general industry analysis. Today, we do much the same, but with a different slate of topics and considerations. We begin with a foray into Helldivers 2's performance on Xbox and the future of off-platform PlayStation publishing, but then segue into a bunch of other stuff, too: The failure for Sony to fully support PlayStation 5 with first and second party product, the need (or lack thereof) for PS6, which strategies Sony and Microsoft will pursue in terms of next-gen pricing and access, the steady decline of the Xbox brand, Grand Theft Auto VI's potential sales and critical reception, the pricing controversy surrounding Silksong, the pending Saudi acquisition of storied American publisher Electronic Arts, and much more. Do enjoy!
