I didn't catch the Halloran connection at first. Halloran was the name of the guy from The Shining who could communicate telepathically with Danny.

I think in the Stephen King book he paints Derry as just a terrible place for everybody. I noticed that some of the side characters, the guys with the binoculars at the dig site, the lady in the shop, all appeared to be Native American. They may know exactly what's buried under Derry.
