Current routine is honestly just throwing on a song I've been working on, but I really do need to go back to a solid routine because I've hit some walls and I totally understand the old man problems with my joints warming up.

But what if I don’t want to shred and I just want to write Billy K style Leviathan riffs? 😅

UB/Dude, this was solid advice - a clear plan. thank you.

Love it. Reminds me of how I used to practice when I was starting out learning to play and I've kind of lost that as I've been bouncing around different exercises and scales rather than working on full songs. The This Sucks exercise is one of my daily favourites though.

Are you going to join the invasion of Canada now that Mastadon is replacing you with a Canadian?

The warm up part of the day started to really bore me, I found my mind wandering whilst I was doing finger exercises so to avoid this I recently started incorporating theory and fretboard knowledge into my daily warm up and its helped immensely. Currently working on learning diatonic apreggio shapes within the key of A major so I'll practice playing through all of the shapes in 1st position and then play a simple chord progression (A, C#m, D, Dm) and then practice arpeggios over the chords (no looper so im imagining the chords) Doing this seem to get both my hands and my brain all warmed up and ready whilst improving my general knowledge of the fretboard + understanding how things work together!

I love that punisher warmup! Gotta get me that one. This is the best cult ever!...I mean community.
