How to MASTER Alternate Tunings, What Amp to Buy for Home + Live Use, + MORE! FAQ YOU with Ben Eller

Downloadable TABs, charts, backing tracks, bonus lessons and MORE available on my Patreon page!!! www.patreon.com/benellerguitars ! This week, all supporters get the groovy neck diagrams i use in this lesson to demonstrate the way i view open C tuning (CGCGCe), made famous by Devin Townsend, Led Zeppelin, and MORE! Instagram @benellerguitars Hey guys! Its your good buddy, Uncle Ben Eller, here with another installment of FAQ You, the grooviest FAQ in all the land!!! In this video, i'm going to tell you guys of the glory that is The Bird and the Bee's Van Halen tribute album, then get to some really great questions that were ALL submitted by my loyal Patrons! First up, lets talk alternate/open tunings; how do we approach them? How do we map out the fretboard when we're in them? Using my modal string approach, you're going to find a totally new way to tackle terrifying tunings! For this section i'm using my Epiphone Masterbilt acoustic in open C tuning, CGCGCe. Next up, we talk about NECKS! Skinny and flat, wide and fat, or somewhere in between? How did i conquer my once crippling neck profile pickiness?!?! You're about to learn! And lastly, we will chat about what amp you should buy when you are a home jammer with dreams of hitting the stage. Do you go all out and buy a massive rig thats useless as a home practice amp? Or buy something tiny that would never cut it onstage?! Or do you do the best thing and pick up an amp that can do it ALL, like my REVV G20 here??? There's a lot of options to explore! Thanks a ton for watching, and please let me know in the comments section what you want to see answered on the next installment of FAQ You!!!

Hey Ben, whats a good cabinet to go with the revv g20. I've been sold on it for a while but I'm not sure what cab would fit my needs best. Play a lot of prog desert metal and the classic hair metal era stuff. Kind of a noob when it comes to this stuff. Thanks!

I sure love my Rectoverb 25 combo. It's actually a bit much for my practice room even on the low wattage settings, I end up with Vater or Eargasm ear plugs in half the time just to spare myself further hearing loss (35 years in bands has me on Belltone's mailing list already). And it's not hard to have the drummer asking you to turn down in a garage with that thing. In the unlikely event I ever get booked into a joint it's not big enough to fill, they can mic it to the PA.
