Hey y'all!

Troy Grady's Cracking the Code series changed my LIFE and exposed me to the POWER of the PICKSLANT! But how do you know what kind of pickslanter YOU are??? The sooner you figure it out, the sooner you can start playing to your strengths and achieving speeds and control you never thought possible! And i'm gonna show you how!!!

SO MUCH bonus stuff below... practice tracks for both licks. TAB. The super long cut. PLUS (finally) Guitar Pro files thanks to my buddy Brent Fox who made them for me! Lemme know if you guys dig that and i'll bug him to do more ;)

Good luck! Let me know what kind of pick slant YOU have in the comments!

I never “got” Troys technique, or more precisely how to implement it. It was a “how to hold your pick” lesson from ol’ Bernth that helped me speed up, after decades of stagnation. I mean, I’d practice triplets, quadruplets all modes all over the neck, but just thought I was at my “limit”. I played in bands as lead, everyone thought I was good, but I knew my limits. Now, I’m gett results, arpeggios, runs all better. Now after years of limits my problem is in applying the new skills musically. My inventory of phrases, or vocabulary during leads is still stuck in yesteryear. Oh well, Uncle Ben is helping me with that…. I think.

Super interesting. So Yngwie J uses a lot of economy picking when ascending then? Far out.

Yes, Yngwie is 98% exclusively a DWPS player. This means his economy picking is typically down-to-down only. I do the same thing!
