This is not the final update, but it might be the last one for several days as every other task I have is now complete, and I can concentrate on finishing Dorley 40.

Damn, bittersweet.

Morrigan

I tried reading this on my break at work and now I’m crying. I’m blaming you, Alyson!

You continue to make me rethink what might make a happy ending, while what I want to see gets more specific. I still want Kay to be able to feel again (somehow) and keep Kimmyspace. And for Patrick to suffer the worst, protracted, possibly even detailed fate. *And* for Emily to be happy, hopefully with Kay. That one could also be detailed :p

Also, your images are wonderfully evocative (in this issue's case, somewhat terrifying). Do you have someone who takes them, or do you take them, or are you just really gifted at finding what the story needs?

Resisted reading this before going to bed, and it was the correct decision. I'm a mess now. T_T

TheCourtOfAria

It's so much bitter and so much sweet

Even then, it feels like somebody put it there for you to find it ^^;

Completely electric story. Saved it for a bad-internet day at work and was NOT disappointed- the subtle shifts in perception giving way to larger ones before ceding completely was just so incredible. I can't wait to see what happens next, and how Kay's going to deal with it.

While this became more horrible to the protagonist, the identity death elements became easier for me to handle. I think it was the greater awareness of the changes and compulsions, even as those became more extreme and harder (and impossible) to resist. Also, the experience became more abstracted, with fewer thoughts as they occur, which I think also helped mute how unsettling the story was.
