I remember my immeasurable joy at being called my first girlfriend's girlfriend.

Cromalin

this is all incredibly sweet but i can't help but notice that this chapter brought up her plans to put off coming out to both her parents and avery, and while obviously i'm deeply sympathetic to that it does make me very nervous that something is going to come up on that front soon! that aside, the chapter is incredible, love to see incredibly healthy communication by teenage standards, love to see how much these girls care about each other, love to see them label it as girlfriends

"Yes and No" doing a lot of work in that AIM chat

Avery at least is 100% gonna figure it out the second she gets a picture from one of their games. No doubt in my mind that Max is going to be prominent in it.

wasn't her picture or name already on the cheer website? i remember thinking avery probably already knows after taylor messed up a pronoun a few chapters ago, and her specifying "is she your girlfriend? are you her boyfriend now?" and her reaction to max saying "yes and no" makes me suspect that's the case even more, she DEFINITELY at least suspects something is afoot. that's not how someone with zero suspicion of max's gender words that and then reacts. so i think the real trick is how taking longer to come out makes avery feel, or if she causes other complications before maxine comes out. i feel like probably she's going to not be shitty, but there are a lot of ways she could accidentally do something that makes things way more complicated, especially if she or her parents are still in contact with the rest of max's family

Well now I'm all warm and fuzzy

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! i love these gay little cheerleaders so much!!

All the fluff this chapter and its good fluff!! Very awesome Fluff! Max needs to come out to Avery very soon, hopefully in the AIM chat to come. On top of that, Max needs a plan to come out to her parents, and that includes back up of where to stay. It might be Taylor's it might be Bannger's, either one could work as a fall back. Here is hoping religious parents are actual good people, and not bigots.

I'm not sure about the website being a thing for Avery any more than for Max's parents, since this is set before someone might expect a high school to have a functional website, so Avery probably wouldn't even look. And while I feel like Avery has *some* suspicion, she's been shown to sometimes be... hyper-verbal?... so asking twice in different ways felt completely in voice.

More and more, I just want Avery to make it over to California. You've got this hurt/comfort thing on point, and I'd like to see her be there to get the comfort part.

Oh God, almost forgot. Very end of page 24 in the PDF, there's either an errant comma or I really want to know how that sentence would end. ^^;

You were a little extra-prolific this week, and I followed the link from my e-mail a bit late😜 I'm guessing that will point to the first release ^^;

PLEASE don't take that as me saying you should show down. I'll play catch-up anytime.

This is the story I wish I could have read at 13. Being able to read it at 48 is utterly lovely, too.

your stories are treasured gifts to your community, i know i'm not the first trans woman to say so. reading this gives me the courage to evaluate my transition for the like tenth time and go "no, you're still holding back on your desires, you should make them happen, it's worth it, you can do it."

I finished reading chapter eighteen, I'm looking forward to the next one, the story is very captivating, it holds my attention. And your narrative, the way you describe the characters, places and things, is as if I were watching a screen, a movie. Please, don't delay in presenting us with the continuation of this story.

Thank you! And when I'm done with the current Dorley chapter, this is the next thing I'm working on!

Just wanted to give praise to what you’ve done with this story so far. Super excited to see where this story goes! ❤️

Reread How to Fly as a comfort read and jumped on here and read 11-18 as a binge over the last 24 hours and, ugh, I know this is going to get painful soon and I am on pins and needles for the next chapter.
