This chapter’s coming in a little hot, because I wanted to get it out before the end of the month. So please let me know about any typos, because there will undoubtedly be several.

Oh my stars, what a bloody chapter, again! There’s just so much to appreciate here, Valérie having to throw together a game plan asap because old rich freaks are old, rich and freaks. The two lesbian disasters (Em and Shy) finally kiss. The opsec is a mess, like holy shit it’s all barely held together. But of course, “the inmate formerly known as Aaron Holt” god that scene where they tell their name to Steph just hit me so hard. Absolutely masterful (for the respect of those who didn’t spend their Sunday reading this chapter I won’t name said new name) but heck what a moment. Great chapter as usual Alyson. Now please actually rest for a day or two before starting work on another chapter!!!

I noticed "shit her up" where it should've been shut her up, and "solder" in "just my solder amusing himself" it's a great chapter, I say this every time a new chapter drops but it might be my favourite yet!!! new name!!!

I'm not sure how throw-away of a phrase this was, but I have to say that the blink-and-you'll-miss-it phrase: "It doesn’t matter that you feel bad about wielding the knife if you still use it." kind of stuck with me. God though, what a bumper of a chapter, though when is it ever not? Theat three-hit combo in the three ending scenes, though, was just an absolute knock-out for the emotions (some hinted at in other comments). Expertly crafted, and the peak of it IMO- not-Aaron's little moments both with Stef and Maria- beautiful little moments that still somehow carry Aaron's (and not-Aaron's) innate energies somehow and still manage to be as quiet and tender as they are.. the needle threaded through that is just magnificent. Had some real tears for it.

omg. That was worth two weeks of wait until I was in the right mind-space to read. All the Melissa scenes made me feel things I've not felt in a long time (mostly happy things, or at least I think the tears I cried when Liss came back home where for joy) Other things: not-Christine and not-Paige finding each other throgh the pain <3. teasing us with 's name was such a bit by this point I half expected us to wait another chapter. And I have to say for me it made things clearer to have a chapter that nearly stays on the same day. and also this chapter was somehow even more Gender than usual

Aaaaaaaaaaa! 💖 Alyson, your writing continues to blow me away with each new chapter. Like, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. *insert the "[she] can't keep getting away with this!" GIF* The complex characters, exploring themes of self-discovery and transformation, and nuanced portrayals of relationships both platonic and romantic -- you bring all these elements to life in a way that entrances and deeply moves me. I cried AGAIN. I love following Steph and BETHANEY'S journey (I admit, though, that I already miss seeing "Aaron" written on the page, strange as that is), and seeing them support and affirm each other through so many challenges. God, the beautiful scene where Bethany whispers her chosen new names to Steph, and Steph's loving acceptance and reassurance, brought tears to my eyes. Their relationship gives me so much hope -- and TERROR. 💖 Melissa and Shahida's reunion was pure delight. I can't wait to see how their story unfolds! The complexities of Dorley's *ahem* methods are represented so well through characters like Will and Tabitha. Will's rage and shame was absolutely PALPABLE. And Tabitha's compassion was so touching. God, Alyson, you create a world that explores big themes through vibrant characters who feel so real. Take care of yourself and keep creating!!! Your storytelling enriches my life and so many others.
