Zeldris

Thankfully there is Anden to advise Ned and not falling for such an obvious trap

John M Pogue

Oh boy, I bet when this news reaches Winterfell, there are going to be a lot of tears and vengeful howls.

MAEGHT Maxime

Thank for the chapter can't wait for the timeskip

Bryce Wilcox

God, I wish this story was updated every week instead of every month. So good. Looking forward to the next chapter!

TheWateringWizard

Thank god Anders, Maege and Jon were there to calm down the more explosive personalities! It was indeed a very poor frame job from Doran… I hope we get another update to this story! I can’t wait for the timeskip. For Jon and Rhaenys to interact again in her dreams and for her to realise the truth

Bryce Wilcox

Agreed. I want to see more interactions in the dreams. Not just with her but perhaps others as well.

Winter

They tried to kill benjen ! Hopefully he recovers and he can speak he dont deserve that

Drinor

It is not as obvious if you think about it. Out of all the people who heard about what happened, the majority of them instantly believed that House Lannister was responsible; even Ned himself would have fallen for it if it wasn't for Anden. If Anden hadn't been around, the moment the soldiers told Ned that pouches with Lannister gold were found on the corpses of the assassins. There's a chance Ned would have ordered his army to fight the Lannisters, and all hell would break loose.

Drinor

Same here, but sadly, there are many other stories I have to work on.

Drinor

Benjen will recover, and him being unable to speak clearly will play a role in the future of the story.

Lost_Monarch

Many things to consider once the Starks return... Willam will be devastated and I have a feeling Barbrey will be furious and blame Ned for what happened to Benjen, it's not like he plotted the assassation attempt, but Ned was the one they intended to kill... The Martells will not be happy with their failure, especially if the North and West alike agree that it wasn't Tywin Lannister who did this... I have a feeling Oberyn played more in the execution of the plan than Doran did, because of one, the Poisons, of which Oberyn's knowledge is expansive... and the other, it was poorly executed, and left a well covered, but not completely hidden trail. As for Jon... he already seems to be in a dark place, Rhae isn't his friend anymore, the one woman who looked at him like a son was killed because he gave Mercy when even he thought he shouldn't... and the feelings of an ill omen would be proven right when his uncle nearly loses his life, and the ability to clearly speak along with it... Well, have to wait and see for what's next.

Drinor

Barbrey is not like that; the reason she hates Ned is because of his HIS decision; it was Ned's decision to bury her husband in the South and not bring him North. Benjen almost dying is not Ned's fault, yeh, she might be upset that the assassins targeted her husband instead of Ned, but she will not hold that against him. Doran already has a backup plan in case the assassination attempt fails. Benjen's almost death will affect William and Jon. Jon will start wanting to learn how to acquire knowledge, which will eventually result in him becoming skilled at manipulating people.

PD

This story has a lot of potential. Thanks for the update.

Longclaw16

When this comes out, Dorne is really screwed. Hopefully Rhaenys can uncover it and deal with it on her own terms

Marcelo Marcal

I understand the connection between the doubt about who caused the attack, but could an assassination attempt against the protector of the North be resolved without any consequences for anyone? The North certainly came out looking weak.
