Thanks for these. The Trap House track is nice. Can be a good background track for when exploring a strange location. Regarding the interesting music I've been listening to this year, I'd probably go with the shanty music and Irish folk stuff. Been listening to this type of music a lot lately as it's such a nice way to uplift your mood. Just pure bliss in musical form. "Wellerman", "You, Me and the Devil Makes Three", "Off To Sea", "Ship is Sinking", just some of the favourites of mine from this genre.

Great tracks, thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone for these! Having listened to basically all of your published tracks, I think that you're getting better with non-orchestral compositions. Regarding your question... perhaps the most unique stuff that I've been listening to lately are some theremin pieces played by Clara Rockmore. It's a very interesting instrument, great for soundtracks too.

Last year, I favorited a video from a jewelry company (of all things) who in an ad used a really great rendition of "Barret's Privateers." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEwd4sDnIsc I had come across that because I was listening to a marathon of Alestorm songs, and amid their various varieties of pirate metal, they perform some fairly straightforward metal renditions of sea shanties. Unfortunately (for me anyway) I later learned the lead singer is kind of gross, and despite him making public apologies for his behavior it sapped my zest for the band, whom I had followed for about a decade. Take that as you will. Their version of "Barret's Privateers" and "Henry Martin" are great. But others probably also have great versions! It's a fun genre of music I enjoy too.

Watching some of her music now. Her precision and agility with the theremin is really impressive. A YouTube guitar guy I like, Rob Scallon, sometimes does videos exploring unusual instruments. He put out this video about the theremin a couple years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYSGTkNtazo I've used a virtual theremin in a few tracks, or emulated the sound of it, in the more stereotypical old sci-fi context. You might also look up the Ondes Martenot, an instrument that produces a similar sound in a different way. It's a keyboard but as an additional input, it has a unique 'ring controller' that smoothly traverses pitch. It's one of the earliest electronic, amplified instruments.
