Yeah, it is quite bewildering that for the past dozen or two chapters, they have fought so hard to make sure they killed all witnesses, only for her to simply let these humans leave knowing what and where they are. But perhaps, thats the point? Depending on how long it takes for them to get back to the city, perhaps she plans for them to have moved on by then and then it won't matter.
