The Lost Boys

"One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach; all the damn vampires."

With all this talk of Lost Boys from Alien: Earth, it got me thinking about one of my all-time favourite vampire movies. This is not a sparkly vampire movie, but nor is it the level of bleak that you would get with Near Dark.

Growing up, I wanted nothing more than to be a Santa Carla vampire and hang out with David and his crew. I know they are the bad guys.... but look how cool they are!! Studded leather jackets and motor bikes, sleeping all day and partying all night!! Ah, to never grow old, hey!

Now, not only is this film brilliant, it also has an absolute fire soundtrack, including songs from INXS, The DOORS, Aerosmith and Echo and the Bunnymen (to name a few)

7.2/10 from IMDB
75% from Rotten Tomatoes
10/10 from Me🤣ah I love nostalgia

If you have any vampire recommendations, please let me know in the comments

I am actually a little surprised this one wasn't your first review! I loved this movie so much when I was a teen! As you say the music in it is fantastic! And the Vampires are great (teenage me couldn't get over how Bill S. Preston esquire, was now a Vampire 😅) But the Frog brothers were my favourite, Cory Feldman is so cool! It was around that time when Corey Feldman and Cory Haim were in loads of films together. I really, really like Near Dark. It is a fantastically dark, bleak, Vampire road movie. I think it's just my favourite over this because of the different take it goes for. And... Hear me out... Dracula: Dead and Loving it 😁 hilarious film
