I don't know how I would describe myself as an early teen but 'cool' would definitely not be it. My daughter seems to be way more stylish and chill than I ever was lol

Also, was I the only one who had rainbow toe socks?? I feel like nobody else wants to admit it..

Rainbow toe socks! 13 year old me would have thought you were the coolest girl in school.

John McCormick

Well you out grew the pogs pretty successfully.

Anthony

I loved pogs. I still have 1.

Samuel Carrizales

Pog is still around. It just means something different these days

Neish86

Once Pogs were banned from school the trend died out pretty fast. It was fun while it lasted though.

Lucas T

Pogs weren't how we gambled, we played Texas hold'em for snacks. Teachers had mixed reactions to that.

pizzacakecomic

I had so many cool pogs...animaniacs, lion king, the Florida panthers, all those weird monster ones, even Alf!

Rhonda

Aww, I love your outfit and all the y2k accessories! I can tell you had fun drawing it 💚 (loving the beanie baby backpack, that’s a nice touch!👍)

Michael Cattle

My 13-year-old just got a haircut like that today! I showed her the comic, and when she saw the bonus panel, she said, "Oh, just like Genshin Impact."

William Harris

I have no idea why, but I always assumed you were secretly a goth/emo kid, lol.

Ken B.

Now she understands why so many of us olds were really confused when "pog" reentered the vernacular of the youths.

Darren Moffatt

Just got a fresh box of Pogs the other day!

Ted

The Tamagotchi necklace lol... Ah to be a millennial in the late 90s

Kurdt

I had a lot of pogs (Including a little thing that let you make your own!) but I think I only actually played like once or twice. Personally, I found them more fun to collect than play. Eventually they just kind of sat in my closet and collected dust. Wish I had kept my Simpsons pogs though, those were pretty sweet (although I don't think they ever did an actual ALF pog which would have been the best thing ever).

Sean Kozma

This comic makes me so happy!

SynysterCola

Ahhhh brings back memories. I was the oldest in the family and I was def not cool. But my younger siblings? Some of the coolest kids in school. No idea how they did it lmao.

Aaron Pearson

Oh man... An intense round of pogs takes me back. I remember having the whole set of the Batman Forever glow in the dark pogs. My Lexington gargoyles slammer was My cherished slammer

Jeff Buckner

My kids found my pogs and I taught them to play. They very quickly reinvented gambling with them.

Mark Edwards

New generation, new perspective! Great art as usual (:

Stefan

Pogs were a weird thing in retrospect though. I'd say you were dorkier than your daughter is too 😇

Jeremiah Avery

Pogs being "gambling, but for kids" is quite accurate, now that I think about it.

Icyartillery

Do you..still have rainbow toe socks..?

Aerik Watson

I was still playing hockey at 13 and training on the side because I thought that being a Ninja was a possible career path. I had a crush on a girl in 7th grade but I was too shy to tell her.

Sol.centered

It was at 13 I discovered black was the greatest color man ever discovered how to dye into fabric… and I never looked back

MiscKevin

13 was sooooo long ago, definitely wasn't cool then but now...nope still nope.

Bushmeat

I was never able to keep my tamagotchi alive. :(

Orange_Cuda74

Pogs were so wild, never really understood the game beyond slamming the slammer piece and making the tower fall

CanDude

Teenage Ellen is so adorable! I love the little touches you put to the character, the tiny backpack and the socks. 😁 I... I don't want to think that my niece is now twice as old as Teenage Ellen; that hurts 😳

Kurdt

Me either. I would feel like it was happy and doing well and then all of a sudden it would die! Way to make twelve year old me feel like a bad parent lol

ItsSomeGuy

They were banned at my school after some crybaby lost their favorite one and their parents bitched super hard about it. Needless to say, that kid was not exactly popular. Why not just leave your favorite one at home? There was nothing special about it, we all just assumed he was a massive sore loser and couldn't handle losing a match
