The story is called "La Cittá di Smeraldo" (The City of Smeraldo), that takes place in a small town in Northern Italy in the 1500 or 1600s. It's a story about an ugly man who was hiding in an old castle alone, because he got a lot of hate due to his appearance. He never opened his heart for anyone even if someone tried, he hid in anger. His happiness was the plants and flowers of his garden. One day a woman appeared near his castle and jumped over to the garden and took a flower when he was sleeping at night. This happened many nights and the man finally pretended to be asleep, but saw that a woman was stealing his flowers. But he found himself waiting for her every night to come and steal flowers. One day he covered himself in a cape and followed her and realised she was selling the stolen flowers to make a living. The man desperately wanted to help the woman, wanted to teach her how to grow flowers, but he was afraid she could be terrified because of his looks and never come to his garden again. So he came to a conclusion that he would let her steal his flowers and then he can see her every day. The man decided to create a flower that didn't exist in the world, so the woman could sell them for a lot of money. He began developing the flower and after a lot of failed attempts he finally created the flower for his love and called it Smeraldo. He filled his garden with the flower. But the woman suddenly stopped coming. No matter how long he waited, the woman never showed up again. Worried, the man went down to the village with his face covered and found out that the woman had died. He didn't have the courage and he lost his only love.

This is one of those many BTS songs where there’s a deep affect. It’s a time before and a time after you’ve heard the song. This song heals me for some reason. It’s tragic and sweet and beautiful and their voices are basically them just showing off what they can do and it’s amazing. Anyway. I’m so glad you finally got to the song.

I don't know about other interpretations of this song but I always see things from my pov according to me the sand castle is armies that bts found and built and they always wear mask to see us like before how suga was trying to be bubbly and funny all the time ,jimin was trying to be more masculine and all the members have their own masks they are afraid if they break the mask then the sand castle that they built the armies that might also break.as a army this is my interpretation 🤗
