Really a GREAT episode -- and stressing already the fact that the characters are more important than the plot (notice Gendō going all family man -- 'we have a son to consider know?' -- while he wasn't broken yet?)

It's so interesting how NGE 'gets' the suffering people have and cannot communicate to others. And how powerless we often feel when faced with this suffering -- like Shinji with Misato's.
