i do have a counterargument for the cosplayers being the play actors. Japan's cosplay scene is very uptight and notorious for having pride in its 'grassroots' origins. So even if the cosplay community isn't much of a TV viewing audience, they'd feel like it's a slap in the face to interview non-cosplayers for this show. It's exactly why Minami was hesitant at first to accept Ruby's proposal about it being a 'lie.'
