Hey everyone!

As most of you probably know, I’m a first-time author, learning as I go with this series. I’m incredibly grateful for all your support, and honestly, I still make plenty of mistakes along the way ahaha.

Someone shared some incredibly thoughtful and respectful feedback about the beginning of Book 2. They brought up points I had already been thiking about myself, so I went through and made a few changes I want to let you know about, since they’ll affect future chapters:

  1. Selena is alive.

I felt she had more potential to add depth in the story, especially later during the war. So instead, Theodora will die at the hands of the Faertis right before Seth’s fight with Lucius (No worries Primalist fans, there's way more Primalists to be met in Book 2). That change will ensure his rage and use of Phantom Punch are both justified . This means the scenes where Seth is beaten up and when he wakes up have been slightly adjusted.

  2. Pacing adjustments.

I’ll likely merge Chapters 4 and 5 by shortening the Fishlord Lancer fight to improve the pacing of the first seven chapters. This will help us reach the expedition to hatch Colossus faster. That’s also why you’re getting an extra chapter today, to keep you at least 17 chapters ahead of Royal Road in case I decide to merge those later.

  3. Schedule and small side project.

For now, I’ll keep the 3-chapters-per-week schedule, with occasional bonus chapters instead of going up to 4 as I was planning to for the end of the month (I'm not sure if I had announced it in a comment or not ahah). That pace ensures I can stay consistent without ever needing a break/hiatrus even when I have busy week with my work.

Also, when I hit writer’s block, I sometimes switch to writing something different for an hour or two. That’s something other authors advised me to do, and honestly, it’s help. It's not much, maybe 2000-3000 words a month, so it doesn’t slow down Ascension of the Primalist.

Still, I was wondering if any of you would like to read some of that side project. It would only be a chapter every 2-3 weeks, maybe even every month since I only write it when I hit a writer's block. To avoid bothering anyone not interested, I wouldn’t send notifications for it. Think of it like beta-reading, since I’d still be changing it heavily and would love feedback! The plan is to publish it on Royal Road in a year or two.

By that time, Ascension of the Primalist – Book 1 might be out on Amazon, and if all goes well, I might be able to reduce my work hours and write more!

Anyway, lots of plans, and nothing set in stone yet. There’s a small poll below to gauge your interest in reading that side project.

Thanks again for your amazing support!

Wandering Inn does interludes which expand on the world and introduces other characters, continents, races or cities.. I much prefer that than whole other stories Generally I think the biggest issue this whole community of authors(online novels, litrpg, etc) have is hiatus and dropped stories.. The generous reason for this is overreaching, not pacing themself from disciplined schedules and releasing too many words per week. The not so generous reason is authors simply dropping stories, because they don't earn them enough money, which is a seperate issue you didn't ask about :P.. So I'm personally not interested in a side project, I'd love to read side stories from the same universe tho. Anyways, this is just my thoughts, I'm not a writer myself nor can I guarantee what is the best way to move forward :)

Since you are changing things so that Selene is still alive, when do you expect to have prior chapters updated? I’ve recently subbed and started book 2, in chapter 1 Seth mentions her having been found dead in the woods. No pressure, just thought I’d point that out

Those are all valid points! Yeah, Pirateaba is a whole different beast for sure, the sheer amount of words she does is insane. And yeah, I totally understand the struggle. I’m an RR reader myself, and I’ve been burned a few times investing in stories that went on hiatus. That’s actually why I stick to a 3x/week schedule, and keep increasing my backlog even if I write more than that. It allows me to return and edit the first book, or take break without having to stress about it. The current speed is easy to maintain. For the side story of the same universe: that's something I really think about. I already wrote the Prologue and Interlude of book 3 because they are from another POV (not Leonard or Kaelen) even if I have not finished book 2 yet ahah. Anyway, thank you for those advices and being honest!
