It's always so fun watching people react to sleeptoken for the first time and being shocked at the music changes. Been there man. They are truly something

Gaeton Dragone

If you enjoy strong lyricism and creatively unique song composition, continue these reactions to ST. Most of their songs tell very powerful stories and are nearly impossible to predict the song structure! Their previous album, Take Me Back to Eden, has no shortage of great choices. Personal favorites are Ascensionism and Euclid, but The Summoning is probably the most popular. :)

Masochismet

This was a great reaction, I like how gobsmacked you were each time the direction changed, it was really fun to watch. I only know a couple Sleep Token songs but I really love Take Me Back to Eden.

Simon Weed

That sax at the end is so damn gorgeous!

Phoenix Mackenzie

Would love the summoning, aqua Regia and granite

Jesse Dueitt

i feel like the 2 that would be the best for a reaction is “the summoning” and “take me back to eden”. those are 2 or my personal favorites and i have a new one that was released last week i believe named “caramel” i think mortius would like.

My favorite Sleep Token songs that I listen to regularly are Alkaline, The Summoning, and Take Me Back to Eden. You should also check out the band Bad Omens if you want to go down a rock band rabbit hole. It's really great seeing you react to things outside your norm

Doc Nagalli

Welcome to the Sleep Token rabbit hole!!! A little something you should know is that their first 3 albums: Sundowning, This Place Will Become Your Tomb, and Take Me Back To Eden, all tell one cohesive story about a toxic relationship between a deity named Sleep and it's Vessel. Sleep Token are also anonymous. One of the topics that are taboo surrounding this band are their identities. But I highly suggest starting from the beginning of Sundowning and going all the way through to Take Me Back To Eden.

DID NOT EXPECT SLEEP TOKEN MORTIUS!! Anyway they are amazing and I MISSED them LIVE last year and SCREAMED but their shows are SO theatric live (definitely see if you can find a video of a live performance!) and unfortunately the tickets were like $600. ;_; But I love them a lot specifically because I feel like the very floaty, lyrical-music vocals/use of very emotional, flowing instruments like the way they use the piano, mixed with the more hard-core breakdown electronic, metal guitar, & metal drum kit, are truly able to express some very complex, very real, very MESSY emotions. For example, you mentioned your connection to the "make my mind go quiet" lyric; having the kind of mind that is loud ALL the time to the point that it can be painful, and then finding someone who can help you find the relief of making it go quiet. I feel like their music is so good at being able to express experiences like that. Experiences that don't necessarily come out resolved with a bow on top when we try to fit them into a clean, packaged narrative. I think I saw another comment before I hit play touching on the Sleep/Vessel relationship, and that's another kind of messy life experience I mean. The love you had/may still have for someone who neglected or traumatized you. And it's so nice to find music that not only sounds BANGER AF but also can sort of help us process some of those emotional experiences in life that we feel both floaty-flowy musical about AND thundrous-metal-electronic-breakdown about. Anyway Alkaline is far & beyond my favorite song by them but I'm also really fond of Aqua Regia and, uh, their cover of Hey Ya. ._. Don't judge me it's REALLY GOOD and bittersweet.

Also if you're checking out unique artists with severe lyrical chops I'm gonna throw Sophie Hunter into the ring because she's an amazing wordsmith that doesn't get enough recognition but also her flow isn't usually particularly family friendly so uh. Your choice anyway I need more people to know about her anyway musician gushing over. :)

Oh I *adore* Sleep Token so much. This is SUCH A SURPRISE but one I welcome. I highly recommend more Sleep Token. This is off their most recent album that's not out yet, Even in Arcadia. I HIGHLY recommend checking out tracks like Take Me Back to Eden, The Summoning, Like That, or the Offering. If it's not obvious they have a bit of a Heavy Metal edge. But mix it with INCREDIBLY gorgeous singing and a real tone shift in a lotta songs. They have some djenty sounds in a lot of their tracks (Djent being a subgenre of progressive metal) They're very avante garde if the sound isn't obvious with Emergence. :) so glad you seemed to like this! There's a story album to album, with Vessel their lead singer and if you went album to album, you'd probably pick up on the story.

River

I forgot to mention that part myself. Do not look into their real identities. They have been revealed and in their most recent release, Caramel, the lyrics directly address that BS from some of their more . . . Frustrating fans.

Stephanie Haskett

I love that you're reacting to Sleep Token!!! I hope you'll react to more of their stuff. The look of shock so many times ok this video was hilarious 🤣

Kory Misun

Good call on grabbing the lyrics! I need them for every ST song. My interpretation is that perhaps the saxophone and piano represents the singer when their mind is peaceful and quiet. The other music styles might represent a mind that's still in a growing stage, or is experiencing a chaotic time. I've been enchanted, and hooked on these creators' music since Take Me Back to Eden became a viral ticktack sound. The lyrics for Caramel gave me a deeper insight into Sleep Token, so I recommend that song for your listening enjoyment, even if you don't react on camera. I adore this band, and they have their mental health to take care of like everyone else. <3 I also recommend The Summoning, but the latter half made me think that I'm Just a Man.

Dorothy Rosenberg

This Sleep Token performance isn’t my cup of tea. If you hadn’t provided some insight, I would have clicked off at the first electronic distortion section. I’m still confused by the saxophone outro. Interesting lyrics (particularly those that prompted your love note to Mortimiss) - but this is a kitchen sink song for me.

Phoenix Mackenzie

Yeah this is cool and fascinating but one that I'd use as BG noise when I need to focus on something else Vs other ones(TS, AR, granite for example) when I'd be entirely focused

Jacob Minger

This song, and their whole discography is a JOURNEY and I love it.

Kristina [Lady Greensleeves33]

Everyone is suggesting The Summoning and Take Me Back to Eden - which, definitely yes. But also, Alkaline

Phillip Koestel

Dark Signs and Higher are definitely a must.

Angela Birr

My personal intro to Sleep Token was "The Summoning" (their most popular, also just ran into bits a ton on tiktok) and they do so many switchups in their songs. "Aqua Regia" and "Blood Sport - from the room below" are some of my personal favorites but I'm also pretty new getting into their stuff. Also, their members are anonymous, their identities are out there if you look but don't, they don't want to be known

Angela Birr

Blood Sport - from the room below is more "acoustic" too compared to their other songs
