I have to share my insane theory that I CANNOT PROVE and this has no spoilers for anything not in act one but it's that the Narrator is going to be something LIKE Puss In Boots (the actual original story, not.. Shrek...) or something. Because if you watch how he lounges, moves, and the positions he crouches PARTICULARLY in "Cursed Crazy"... Like.. the CAT VIBES. CAT VIBES ALL THE WAY DOWN. He even like does the cat tilting of his head as he observes, the cat skittishness behind Ella when he's hiding from the Stepmother when she goes troll the first time, the leaping onto platforms. Also, I know all the male characters pretty much wear impressive boots but... it feels really distinct to his outfit. His grin is even 'chesire' like at times. I once had a director in a play suggest we think of animals or animal merges for our characters to have as a 'vibe' for our movements, and since mine was a widow who...very clearly killed her previous husbands, I went sorta spider/cat mix and when I watch Jeff in this role, all I can see is someone embodying a cat vibe. I cannot. It's ALL I SEE. And considering the setting, then my brain scrambles for cat characters who might be telling the tale. And Puss In Boots in the original story was a talking cat that used trickery and showmanship to get what he wanted. Which. AGAIN. NARRATOR. (Sorry, this is MY "I'm not off my bullshit" thing)

Also on reflection there are more harmonies buried in the mix for the Proshot. If you hear the soundtrack version there are definitely some lovely harmonies in the backing vocals.

One of my absolute favorite things in this show is Jon and Joey wearing makeup to match Sir Hop-A-Lot and Crumb. Just adds so much to the portrayal!

I would LOVE a YouTube short or reaction gif of "That's not how opinions work!" (If Mortius is ok with being clipped) Or maybe print-on-demand stickers in the merch shop?

Once again the correct reaction to Sir Hop-A-Lot

Murry Soothsayer

oh hell yeah. I've been waiting for this one

26:38 I really wish you weren't right, but as soon as this scene started I started audibly apoligizing so...

D. Sparrow

Yeah embarrassingly I only got that during this reaction and it's one of my favorite lines 🤦‍♂️but doesn't make me like it any less

The choreography of "I look good in this" mirrors the prior song. It's a deliberate show of the Stepmother "stepping in" and taking over Ella's place, pushing her aside, and making her 'less' as she has since she's come into the House Ashmore. Ella's friends, who she was so good with, are gone and the stepsisters and stepmother exist as the 'facade' that everyone else will see.

Hey Mortius, have you read the content warning in the description box for CC? No spoilers but you might want to do that before Act 2. <3 (hope you feel better soon!)

My personal theory is that Facade is a little off and a little uncomfortable to differentiate and compare it to the one before it- it’s definitely a little different on the soundtrack, but it still feels like they’re doing very much a Character Effect Song rather than a Vocal Showcase Song. The fact that it’s a little flat may be intentional but I’m not Jeff Blim so who can say!
