February 2023 Monthly Message (Patreon)

Well February is already getting off to a crazy start! I was a little blown away (no pun intended) by the spy balloon story. Both that it wasn’t a one off, and that it really seemed to capture a lot of people’s attention. In the ten years we’ve been making China Uncensored, we’ve covered so many very serious threats from the CCP. People should be much more concerned about TikTok. Or the episode we made this week about how China is able to use private equity to gain access to cutting edge US tech (Which sadly not that many people seemed interested in!). But at least this was a good chance for more people to learn that the CCP is basically at war with the United States and we had better wise up. Also the memes were priceless.

As for things behind the scenes, I hope you’ve been enjoying our new channel Gamers Unbeaten. It’s actually been a pretty fun way to talk about some deeper political or philosophical topics that really wouldn’t fit into either China Uncensored or America Uncovered. And I’m hoping sometime this month I can get a pilot episode finished for our next new show, History Unearthed! I’m hoping that can be a channel that helps explore how we got to where we are today, especially with the history of Communism.

A big thing I think we should keep an eye on moving forward with China is how the new Covid surge will affect the CCP. Frankly, we have no idea how bad Covid has been in China. The death toll could be astronomical for all we know, and depending on how much of a hit their population took, that could have a big impact on the CCP’s plans for the future. That, combined with many of the recent actions by the Biden Administration to limit the CCP’s access to sensitive tech, in particular chip technology, could make the CCP irrelevant as a threat in the next ten years. But a CCP on the brink of collapse could also be a pretty terrifying thing.
