In the out of left field random thought category, the first time I saw this and the Lucille scene, I immediately remembered her from the Monkees episode in Las Vegas where she is playing Micky like a slot machine and hits the jackpot. Which unless I’m mistaken and just seeing things through perv-colored glasses, was a pretty racy double entendre for a 1968 US TV show.

Jen, I tried finding out about the dog in this movie and all I could find is that no dog was actually hurt in the making of this. I think it was probably a sedated dog.

I have read about a rumor that they used a taxidermy (stuffed) dog, which could explain why the body was stiff. It would have been limp had it recently died. Also, there were no visible wounds, which can indicate that it was never hit or run over.

Hello Jen, I've been waiting a while for you to react to this movie so I just went ahead & rented it on your patreon (I was serious when I said in the Maverick comment that my wife doesn't want me subscribing so I just rented your reaction instead). I know you're a Paul Newman fan & this is considered one of his best. It's about a man who refuses to conform. I don't know how well this movie resonates with this generation but it sure did for past generations. Anyway, glad I finally got to see you watch it. Great job!
