This week it's all about Picard and Beverly (for me anyway!) and I enjoyed every moment. No spoilers on whatever happens in future eps or shows/movies but MAN I wish Picard could find true love! ♡ Engage! ðŸ––

Sorry, Jen, Picard's heart already belongs to another: The Enterprise! In ST TOS, Kirk was 'infected' by the tears of an alien woman (beautiful, of course!). The infection caused an attraction that distracted Kirk when the Enterprise came under attack, and McCoy was meantime searching for an antidote. In the end, Kirk triumphed, and when McCoy exclaimed he had found an antidote, Spock simply observed "The antidote to a woman of Elas, Doctor, is a starship. The Enterprise infected the captain long before the Dohlman did." Beverly stands no chance! ;-) (This doesn’t mean that Picard and Crusher can’t hook up. Kirk had more ass than a toilet seat, but the Enterprise remained his main squeeze.)

I don't know of anyone who cares about this episode's B-plot. I consider it nothing more than window dressing for the main event. I was disappointed that they didn't give romance a shot at the end, but I understood where Beverly was coming from. I think she was just scared that she was about to ruin a good thing, and Picard is of course too much of a gentleman to push the matter any further.

One thing I will say - Riker, for all his years working with Picard, all his poker play, all his experience, and he still let's his emotions run wild all over his face. You'd think by now he'd be better at it.

Paul Sophocleous

I swear, in the scene where Picard is testing the grating on the cell window, he gets his finger stuck.
