I'm finally watching Star Wars! I've seen bits and pieces over the years and know some character names but really have no idea what the overall story is so I'm SO excited to finally dive in!

Spoiler: I loved it! :)

Looking forward to hearing all the insights and trivia from long time fans. My most pressing question is: why did the theatrical release names start at Episode IV?! Let me know!

Guest appearance by Boston, the cutest pup in the galaxy :)

Thanks for watching along with me! :)

Hi Jen, I'm super late to the party so not sure if you're still checking comments on such old posts but I'd like to take a stab at some of your other questions/comments: -The original trilogy were re-released by Lucas several times over the years with subtle changes each time. The versions available on all the streaming devices and for sale on DVD/Blu-Ray now are from 2004. The bulk of the changes came along in what is now called the "Special Edition" release in 1997 which saw numerous scenes added or remastered via modern (for the late '90s) CGI. If you go back and re-watch the movies again and pay closer attention you can probably start to pickup on what parts are original and which parts are CGI. Regardless of the changes, most of what you saw is original and yes, it totally blew viewers away in 1977. -Star Trek came first, 1966 to be exact. George Lucas credits Star Trek as one of the many influences that led to Star Wars. -I would argue that Episode V is the best of all the Star Wars movies but Episode IV is probably everyone's favorite because, as you pointed out, it was the first one.

Thanks Paul! Having seen Episodes 1-6 now I still think 4 is my favourite but really I love them all as one big story! Oh plus Rogue One too 👍
