Posting with an ulterior motive, however....

Questions Invitation

Most of the mini-comics and mini-tutorials I've drawn over the past few years were the result of a question someone asked about characters or comic-making.  Because I'd like to keep on drawing comics for you guys while I've got Volume 3 development and book and convention prep going on in the background, I figured I'd put an open invitation out to submit questions.

If you don't have any, that's fine - I've got a backlog of them from tumblr to work with, but I'd like to give Patrons priority!  If you do have some, feel free to leave them as a comment here on this post, or drop me a message.

*Not every question can result in a comic or drawing as a response, but I'll try to answer all questions one way or another.

Finn-Lily Heartwood

New patreon but long time fan. Love the behind the scenes stuff I've run into so far. Do you think you could post more of your reference/mood board sheets for your process shots/videos? Would be great to understand the idea phase of your process more. Other q's: When you thumbnail a shot, how do you think about framing as part of the emotional impact? How do you balance getting all the action + detail in, with keeping room for those pesky dialogue balloons? Could you share your secret depository of expression reference images if you have some? Your expressions are what I strive to hit someday. (lol yes, I know, use a mirror, but I can't quite rocky in a mirror very well yet :P )

Angel Eyes

I look at these two pinned side by side, both in this picture and in The Force Awakens parody pictures, and I've realized what you're trying to hint at: Ivy and Mordecai truly are polar opposites. It makes me wonder: Will they have any interaction in the comic? I can't wait to find out.
