a lot of your videos are now saying "Sorry, The Video Does Not Exist" when I click on it, like this one. Could you possibly reupload them. Thankyou

max flax

Yo Bob, I don't think you'll see this but this video became unaviable, I just wanted to cry with you man FeelsBad

Louee

Let’s goooo

Julian Culnane

I noticed from the beginning of the video you said you never heard Frank ocean before, but he has been in numerous Tyler the creator songs actually. I haven’t watched the whole video so idk if you realized that yet or not haha

bobthepoppop

I think I mention that later in the video, but it's been so long since I've listened to a bulk of Tyler's music, I couldn't remember

Milo Stroik

fun fact, the beat switch in Nights happens exactly at the midpoint in the album, and this represents a big tone shift between the lighter first half and darker second half of the LP

Isaiah Piedra

So cool you’re doing this album. I fell in love with my gf of 5 years when this came out. I moved out for the first time to college and partied a lot, but this album was my balance.

Isaiah Piedra

Frank is an amazing songwriter. He used to write for huge artists like Beyoncé, Rihanna. His lyrics are not so forward, it’s more like poetry in some of these songs where each line is deep. Genius helps with this record. He was also in Tyler the Creator’s posse back in the day. They came up together but Frank blew up blew up. This album is something you listen to driving at night, or when you’re laying in bed with headphones. The cinematic audio universe it creates is dope. I love the birds in Solo, Close To You is my favorite though. Musically, this is very nuance, very mature piece of art. Been listening to this album for years and still find new sounds i never heard before

Julian Culnane

Gotta do channel orange next. It’s his other album he released a few years before this one. It’s just as good as this one I promise you

Litty Again

Channel orange is a must from frank ocean

Gabe

Great reaction bob. Channel Orange is his debut album and is quite frankly just as good. Frank always has something profound to say, whether you relate to it or not

Ryan Severson

Andre 3000’s verse on Solo (Reprise) is so underrated. One of many extremely lyrically dense verses of his. You should check out some of Outkast’s material when you get a chance.

Landin

I love the longer videos.. Longer videos better.

i like how u mentioned the sounding like radioheads at the first song. he actually has a skit from a previous project where he tells a girl in his car to put on some radiohead lol.

Tyson Jankowiak

By the way maybe this would interest you. When the song Nights part two happens the beat drop is exactly in the middle of the whole album. from then on the tone gets a darker too! So its exacttly half and half

Tyson Jankowiak

On white ferrari the word "love" is actually sung by kanye west little easter egg as he helped with production and writing the album

Isaac Backer

Really enjoyed your analysis of the lyrics

Layne Simpson

Fantastic video, really liked your take on Solo

lucas misclevitz

Something that’s cool about blonde is that it was dropped completely independently of his old record label (Which is why it’s so experimental and abstract.) He actually recorded an entire album as a decoy and made it flop on purpose so that he could get dropped from his label and release Blonde as an independent artist. The decoy album is called Endless and it’s still a phenomenal album, but it was only released as a 45 minute music video only available on apple music. This way, his old record label makes as little money as possible off of Endless and he had full creative control over Blonde. Here’s a really cool video explaining just how hard he finessed his record label. It was a genius move as an artist and as a business. https://youtu.be/EIz8nlyQNJY

Maurice Ruetz

Another great video man :) You should consider listening to some of J. Cole's music! He is also very conscious and in a similar lane like Kendrick Lamar. Maybe check out 2014 Forrest Hills Drive, it's one of the best Hip-Hop albums of the last decade in my opinion :)

Lex

Bob if you’re ok with non hip-hop albums I would recommend 1000 gecs by 100 gecs. If you wanna only stick to hip-hop reactions tho I understand

daredevil777

Endless (the album he put out as a "decoy" on his old record label) is actually pretty amazing too. They came out almost at the same time Also if you like Andre 3000, the Outkast albums are some of the best HipHop has to offer. ATLiens, Aquemini and Stankonia are my favs.

Thank you for reacting to this album, probably on of my favorites album of all time. You gonna like it more for each listen

daredevil777

+Frank Ocean was in the Music Collective Odd Future founded by Tyler in 2010. Earl Sweatshirt is another artist from that group worth checking out (Doris, I dont Like Shit I Dont go Outside, Some Rap Songs). channel ORANGE by frank is from that time, its a very good album too

lmao Bob I'm 24 and done acid and psilocybin bunch of times. You can literally buy tabs and psilocin powder online lol

bobthepoppop

It really is great. I'm glad so many people recommended it to me. I look forward to digging into it further. Already gave it two listens today. I need a nice, long night drive so I can put it on and really let the mind wander to it.

bobthepoppop

Outkast has been recommended a few times, though not a lot. I am interested in checking them out though

bobthepoppop

It's awesome that he was able to do that, and a shame that the old record label was too short sighted to allow him the freedom to do something like Blonde. Record companies are dumb

bobthepoppop

I enjoyed these lyrics a lot. Lots of room for interpretation which always makes it fun!

bobthepoppop

Pretty badass. I did notice that the album seemed to take a turn about midway through but I had no idea it was on that exact beat

bobthepoppop

Given how much I enjoyed this one, I can see Channel Orange happening in the future 👍

bobthepoppop

Ha, I just replied to another comment about how I need a nice, long night drive for this album. It really is fantastic

bobthepoppop

Pretty wild that it's on that exact beat. I would've never guessed (well, maybe after a hundred listens later)

bobthepoppop

I can see this as a good balance album. Something to stay grounded to. Calming, subtle, so on

nokenheimer

Love love love how open minded you are with music!! Also, if it isn't already on your list, put DAMN by Kendrick Lamar on there. Fantastic album, think you'll love it! Great production and lyrics all throughout.

jimmyvinyl

That last part of Futura Free you didn't listened (which is not a bad thing), that's his little brother talking with him and his friends, he died in a car crash a year ago I believe..the duration of the song is related to the speed of light, it also talks about it at the end. Great reaction still! I am happy to see people enjoying this album, looking forward for more stuff and also to your recommendations!

Love the work Bob, can't wait for your further kanye reviews! keep it up man

Justin

The spacey, somber and unpredictable nature of this album struck a chord with everyone and it is essential listening for anyone getting into hiphop even though this album isn’t hiphop. Since this album dropped in 2016 his influence can be heard so much in the music of his contemporaries. Understanding this album will aid in understanding other hiphop albums with a melodic inclination

Paul Salvador Estrada

I work 10 hr shifts too which is where i consume these videos so longer videos are definitely apprciated from this patreon

bobthepoppop

It's a strange skit to me. Tough to hear, random bits of conversation... he must think of his brother a lot
