And the war was already won. Shogun is an absolutely amazing mini series with beautiful setting, emotional characters, and ends perfectly. It was a bit too hard to process in the moment of this reaction, we hope to discuss it a bit more soon tho!

I thought John's future perspective was a bit strange, but I think it was their way to get us into his internal struggle since we saw Yabu's externalized at the pond.

The scenes with Jhon at the beginning, are not his future, It was his vision of himself as an old man. This changes when he decides to commit seppuku, that’s when the visions stopped and he becomes a new man.

wanna know what’s even colder? i believe that “why tell a dead man the future” was what yabushige told his nephew when they first captured john his men and the ship. indeed a very sad but satisfying finale. can’t wait to rewatch!
