In better news the avatar the last airbender creators made their own studio and are making animated movies and shows about the avatar universe. the movie about the avatar gang all grown up drops in 2026 , I believe there are 3 planned animated movies

Cody, you and Bridgette should read the Avatar comic “the Search” (whether on the channel or on your own). It tells the story about what happened to Zuko’s mom. The other comics are hit or miss, but I’d argue and say this is one of the best stories!

Totally get the Azula hate, I won’t outright defend her. But I do give her some sympathy. I know well what it’s like to be a teenage with parents who fundamentally dislike you because of your character and do not offer unconditional love in the slightest. I have a sister that’s a year younger and more aligned with my parents philosophy, and it screwed her up in a totally different way. Both my parents ended up serving prison time, and while my sister never went to prison (probably should have), she’s been arrested and got jail and probation instead. .. I’m an attorney lol never been arrested, and not only would I never represent any of them but I’m full no contact with my parents for years now. But not having unconditional love and being influenced and informed by bad actors as parents.. it can warp you in wild wild ways

I refused to watch Korra for years until about a year ago and was beyond pleasantly surprised. They made a point to grow a bit with the viewer and has different themes but you still get the feeling of the world and the animation and music are still fantastic.

Can you guys do Legend of Korra the characters from the original appear and it fills in a few gaps from the original and has a few moments that are very good and intense your definitely get goosebumps there’s not as many episodes so your get through legend of Korra faster then avatar the last air bende. I highly recommend watching atleast episode 1.

There are comics that go into Zuko's mom's backstory. Also an interesting thing to note about that final battle is how as soon as he goes full avatar state, the music is frightening, not heroic. Cause it IS terrifying for everyone including Aang. I really love the music and lack of music by contrast between the two final battles. Sigh..it never gets old. Now can you REALLY wait for Korra?? ;]

fun fact, season 4 never got made because the people from avatar had to work on the terrible live action movie at the time so the season was scrapped

Also, can I say..I have watched through the Korra seasons just as many times as I have ATLA and they are equally amazing and worth your time. They have different qualities but Korra is grand, epic, funny and heartwarming in it's own way while expanding on this awesome universe that ATLA started. Seriously I think people who go to every youtube channels comments section, campaigning against Korra reacts, are really bizarre to me. I do think there is misogyny there ..has the same vibes as Star Wars purists who hate post every female /poc charater they introduce.. ya know? I've been watching your reactions for the last two years and im very confident you'll love it when you get to it. Thanks again for these fun reacts. See ya for Korra AND all the other stuff too :]

Yeah, I’m the oldest of 4 girls and we all have significant issues from our upbringing. And agreed, in hindsight, I’m thankful I wasn’t the favorite and that there was a vast discrepancy in treatment and expectations. But it doesn’t mean that it was okay or that the hurt I felt and still deal with isn’t valid either. I’m glad you’re okay! And hope you continue to be. It’s rough, buddy ❤️

I can’t hype the dragon prince enough it’s basically a spiritual successor to avatar with voice actors (koh the face stealer and sokka) and a shit ton of references, you guys would enjoy it just as much as avatar (Bridgette might like it more cus there’s a lot of dragons) can’t wait for Korra and arcane !!

Hyped for the eventual Korra reactions. It’s definitely a different show with its own limitations because of studio issues, but it’s still such a good show with amazing characters.

The Zuko spinoff you are looking for was actually done in comic book format. It follows him learning what became of his mother and features more of the Gaang and some Azula. It’s called “The Search”

Now to Korra we go! I know there are still some time until u guys watch it, but when u do, try to separate ATLA from Korra, most of the ppl who didn't like Korra couldn't do this, and that's why they didn't like it. The animation deals with different themes, is a little more mature and most important, Korra is not Aang. So go on with open minds and i'm sure you guys are gonna love it. And i'm really hoping you guys watch Arcane, is absolutly amazing and one of the best series (including live actions) out there in my opinion. The voice acting, the animation, the dialog, script... everything is top notch.

If you're interested in finding out what's going on with Zuko and his search for his mom, I'd recommend giving some of the comics a go. Specifically, ATLA: The Promise, and then ATLA: The Search. The former is more of a direct continuation of how the show ended, with it paving the way for what happens in the latter, the actual search for his mother. Mind you there are more comics but those are the standouts in my opinion, most of the comics have varying quality in terms of writing, but those two are great. Loved the show, happy you enjoyed it too. Well worth the sub here for the extended and early access hehe. Also can't wait for the 2026 movie, the only synopsis we have so far about the plot is that it follows the Gaang in their early 20s - 30s.

The best part about you both joining the fandom at this point is that we are two years away from more REAL avatar content. The Netflix show was butchered IMO. However, Zuko and Azula have their arcs concluded in a comic series. Please watch Korra, as much as we complain about some plot points it is still fantastic. We also have the first Earth Avatar series landing in 2026.

Before you watch Korra just understand Aang's story is a 10 and Korra's is a 8. Go in with realistic expectations. Season 3 is the best one in Korra then 4, 1, 2.

My high thought for the day as I was watching this: imagine being the fire nation soldiers in the command room of the blimp Toph broke into. You’re just chillin, doing your job, when suddenly a tiny child mockingly knocks on your metal door before kicking it down, falling straight on top of it, COMPLETELY covering her entire body with metal including her eyes, and then hurdling towards you😂 all when they didn’t even know metal bending was possible. I’d be terrified😂

I remember watching this live on nickelodeon back in the day and was so hyped. Legend of Korra is also definitely a good watch as well. To be clear though seasons 1 and 2 are written like they're the last season of the series cause Nickelodeon wouldn't tell the creators they were approved for more seasons until season 3 and 4 so how they're paced and how they end each season is because of that.

I too remember the day this aired. I begged my parents to be allowed to eat on the couch because i HAD to see it. They saw how much it meant to me and said yes.

In one of the first couple episodes Sokka says to Aang. "FUN?! You can't fight fire benders with fun!?" Aang replies, "You should try it some time!" And it isn't until a couple episodes from the end Sokka dumps 30 soldiers into the water with a lure of hot cakes and sweet creams for a birthday party and is able to take out dozens of firebenders with fun.
