When Armand was talking about 1500s, he said that was when the Rome coven sent him to Paris to take over. He goes on to say he led them for 239 years until he first sensed Lestat. So when he says a century or so ago, he's not thattt far off but also not being wholly accurate because what's time to a vampire AND I think he was trying to downplay how hurt he still was. In present day, he's more precise and says it was 150 years between Lestat and Louis for him.

Lestat loved Nicky and he turned him which was the guy that was watching them in the box. Lestat used Armand to get more knowledge about his gifts and i think he had some affection for him. Armand was most likely at the time Lestat’s only other encounter besides his maker. When confronted up close Armand tries to force his hand and takes Nicky from him. When he finds them Nicky is very weak from being feed on by those of the coven.

So many questions and theories at this point, I love it. To clarify the timeline Armand gave: It was 1556 when Armand was sent to be the leader of the original Paris coven. He acted as leader for 239 years, making the year 1795 when Lestat turned up. Which matches the story Lestat told in Season 1 where he was turned in 1794. When Lestat met Armand he had only been a vampire for a year. Armand is just old af. It's so interesting to me that Armand was the leader of 2 covens and is as old as he is, but has repeatedly had issues where his own beliefs contradict the community he's in charge of, but it's almost seems like he has no power to do anything about that.
