Better a little late than never! If you still want to watch our finale reaction or even still recap before starting season 2 here it is! I did NOT expect Sharkzooka 😭 10 out of 10 first season, cannot WAIT to get into Season 2 (we also made a Season 2 spoilers channel on the discord if ya wanna talk about the new season 😂, we plan to watch it tomorrow night and have it by Tuesday!) Silent Hill 2 stream tonight! <3

The point of the scene where Silco is talking to Vander is showing us that Silco now understands why Vander stopped fighting and made a deal with enforcers, and ultimately gave himself up to save his daughter. Silco isn't lying when he tells her that he wouldn't sell her out. She misunderstood his intentions while eavesdropping.

The art style change in episode 7 is one of my favorite things,. Dont forget to watch the Enemy music video, it ties into that episode/fight a bit. I also didn't trust Mel, they did a good job of subverting our expectations with her. I love that the weapon is a shark, Silco loved his river monsters so she made it for him :(

Your mind can go really crazy when thinking alone with trauma and anxiety covering it. Vi may never had said anything that makes anyone belives she didn't like Jinx anymore, but Jinx is not really a sane person, and she spent years alone in her not sane mind imagining a million of things without anyone to say she was wrong. Paranoia don't have a clear reasoning, you can imagine really a thousand of things that don't make sense and believe that they are right. Silco had a little of reason there in the end in what he was saying ... Maybe Vi really wouldn't be able to accept the new Powder. In that scene, Vi is cleary causing pain to Jinx making her remember all those people that fills Jinx's mind with trauma, Vi wants Powder back, but that can't never happen, there is absolute zero chances that Jinx go back to Powder, that's not how our mind works. Of course that maybe with proper care she can get a little better and all ... But it's kind of unlikely, and not better in a way that Vi gets her little sister back ... Jinx is a whole new person now. And Silco sees too much of himself and his history with Vander in Jinx, he really belives that Vi abandoned her back there and will betray her when she sees that Jinx can't go back to Powder. He may be right or wrong ... Silco is definitely a bad person, altought his motives and goals are "good", he extrapolated in his methodes to get things done, and put a lot of innocent life to rest for that. He is a bad guy. But he's a very gray character and very intersting to watch, and I really believe that he would never give Jinx up, he loves her, and sees himself in her, he wants to protect her, even tough he's not very good at it.

some nerdy writer enjoyer thoughts lol. I love a good parallel and the silco/vander parallel for me is just chefs kiss. Vander chose peace instead of fighting for the undercity, something Silco never understood. Then Silco is granted everything he wanted for the undercity but can't bc of Jinx. Vander chose peace to protect the kids, Silco likely would've chose war for Jinx. The talk with vander's statue was an "i get it now" moment which leads to me to ANOTHER writing appreciation moment. The theme of "an undoing a daughter" silco says it but it is all throughout the show not only with Vi, Vander, Jinx etc but with Mel & her mom, Marcus & his daughter. idk this show is just perfect, I can probably type a whole essay of all the parallels and interesting plot, character tings... maybe another time but can't wait to watch s2 with YALL lol.

I mean I would. Grooming doesn't just hold sexual connotation. It is defined as the practice of preparing or training someone for a particular purpose or activity. When he took Powder/Jinx in that is exactly what he did and what his purpose was. Even if he grew to love her and see her as his child doesn't change the fact that she became a cog in his plan.

Okay that's semantics, yes grooming someone for a position is very different from calling someone a "groomer" which is heavily implied to be sexual in that connotation

Masterful writing. Almost every scene I could think of parallels with the world today, and it delves into the human psyche in so many ways & highlights, as you say, that almost everyone is grey & not black & white. That almost no person is all good or all bad. That it is the innocent that suffer most in war, it’s just so so good.

Vi loves Powder, Silco loved Jinx. The truth is, she is both, but neither of them truly love her for all that she is. Devastating.

Oh well I definitely wasn’t meaning sexual groomer lol although the closeness was weird I just meant he groomed her from a traumatized child into exactly that, a cog in his plan. I do believe in his mind tho he cared about her, loved her as his daughter etc. But he also used her for his plans (which also in his mind is for the greater good). Amazing writing all around regardless this show reaches those insane morals boundaries better than any show i can think of honestly 😭

Originally in the game lore (before Arcane, they changed it now) it was actually Jayce and Caitlyn that were dating and Jayce created hextech hammer to help her fight crime, while Vi became a hero when a mine collapsed and she used miner's mechanical gloves to rescue the miners, after which Jayce created hextech gloves for her so she can join him and Caitlyn.

Silco would’ve never given up Jinx. His convo with Vander gets misconstrued on first watch a lot because of Jinx’s reaction, but he’s saying to Vander that he finally understands. He understands why Vander gave up the fight to protect his kids. He realizes he’s finally getting what he wants but he can’t even make himself want it anymore because he’d lose his daughter. “Is there anything so undoing as a daughter?” is him realizing that everything he’s worked for no longer matters if Jinx gets taken away
