BEAUTIFUL! It truly may be our favorite. Mark Hammill is amazing in this btw, I don't think I ever said that. But so was everyone honestly. Obsessed with this show and how it all plays out. 10 out of 10 😂

The scene where Verna visited Lenore and told her about her mother, wrecked me. Carla Gugino was fantastic through the whole show, but that scene was heartbreaking.

Verna couldn’t save Lenore. It was a done deal. The consequences of Roderick’s and Madeline’s actions before any of them were even born. To not take Lenore would have broken the deal. So she gave her the gentlest death she could, in her sleep. So glad Bridgette picked up on Lenore Nevermore, not many people do. Also Verna is Raven I think having Auggi there was someone for Roderick “to confess his sins” because he screwed Auggi over at one point

This series is absolutely amazing, Mike Flanagan will always be an adaptation genius. This had so many different Poe stories into one perfect gift but also Haunting of Hill House is a book as well. Though my final little thought though I realized this while watching with y'all, is it not a little weird that Madeline & Roderick were dressed as Jay Gatsby & Daisy Buchanan?? but I also realized that the final Poe Monologue by Verna is also at the beginning in ep 1 through the priest at the funeral, giving a perfect full circle

My favorite Mike Flanagan project will always be Doctor Sleep cause it’s fantastic and so underrated. Kyliegh Curran, who plays Lenore, is also in it and she is absolutely amazing. Usher would probably be my second after that. Can’t wait to see the Carrie series though.

My take on the last scene between Roderick and Madeline differs from yours. I think you felt he was seeing her for who she really is for maybe the first time, but all I see when he's watching her go off during her monolouge is a man in love and deep sadness that he's killing her. I laugh every time she collapses in his arms - the "you motherf..." gets me. I'll PM you links to my Madeline tattoo. Mary McDonnell took a picture of it at two different conventions to send to Mike Flanagan. The Griswald actor (Michael Trucco) was impressed with it as well. They were both in the 2000s Battlestar Galactica reboot - which is my all-time favorite show, and I always highly recommend it!

My God, I can’t get enough of this series and revisiting it with you 2 has been amazing. I feel like I rediscovered the series all over again and piked up on things I missed before. Lenore’s death still affects me, it just brings me to tears. CARLA GUGINO should have won an Emmy for this role…she ate and left no crumbs 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🔥😎
