It is time! Going into this Bridgette and I have like a decent frame of reference for what this movie/The Hunger Games is, though neither of us have memory of actually seeing it before now. I think it just comes from how big this series was in pop culture and with memes 😂 And we have no clue where the next 3 will go, but after watching this we're super excited to find out! Also not to mention some of the crazy cast in here 😂 Awesome movie, surprisingly dark and nails the "dystopian" vibe so well. Edit coming shortly <3

Also, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes the most recent movie was very good and worth the watch!

Definitely watch The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes after you finish the 4 main Hunger Games movies. It’s definitely worth watching. It’s about President Snow when he was younger. I just bought the new book Sunrise on the Reaping, which is also a prequel and about Haymitch (being developed into a film as well).

The thing is as much as the movie showcases the unfiltered physical violence of the games, the books are so much more psychologically torturous. Like the beast at the end: in the movies they kinda just look like mutant pitbulls; in the books those dogs are physical representations of all the tributes that are already dead. They have their hair color & texture, their relative body size and build compared to each other, their district numbers on the collars and while katniss is fighting for her life she is trying to determine whether the capital somehow perfectly replicated their eyes or if they STOLE them out of their actual heads because it is so uncanny. when she sees "rue".... chills

I saw these movies at all the midnight showings as a preteen/teenager and they still hold up. They might even better rewatching as an adult.

this is a perfect series imo

Hunger games is definitely the best of the book to movie, movies in my opinion.

I LOVE your extended reactions! You guys are awesome thank you! 🙏

Something thats very small but is my favourite detail is Haymitch putting his hand over his glass. He stopped drinking to mentor them, he started to see that they could actually stand a chance and he started taking a chance on him so he stopped drinking to be more present woth them and teach them

C. J. Ramirez

Imagine how much worse the movies were if they were rated r

Watching this for the first time with you guys while I fold laundry 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I imagine someone already mentioned this but the redhead girl that died from eating the berries was the one who nailed the trainning on poisons and such. She committed suicide. LOVED rewatching this through your fantastic reaction!

Kat Conley

She didn't, actually. Even the actress confirmed it. She did nail that training of course, but nightlock berries don't grow in any of the districts so she would have never seen them before. Katniss only knows what they are because of her father taking her outside of district boundaries, where they do grow. That's also why Peeta wasn't suspicious of them.

Clearly, rebelling against the Capitol was the right thing to do.
