A wild finale. I wish there was more coming now though I understand why they chose such insane cliffhanger moments to end on 😭 I think quality of Season 2 hits hard. But the wait for Season 3 will be a bummer!

You know what really bugged me about last episode? Or rather about some of the reactors I've watched? So many of them, (most of them women. Do with that what you will,) didn't bother to listen to what Joel's dad was really saying and what was really happening. They just got all huffy and accused Joel's dad of just making excuses. Meanwhile, I'm over here like, "Yeah. That's exactly how generational trauma is healed: in tiny increments as each generation does the best with what they were given."

The placement of The Monster at the End of This Book was genius. Another book that was sitting beside it was called Love You Forever (biggest tear jerker ever). Picking the monster book shows how disconnected Ellie feels. She didn’t grab the one with the loving title.

Yes! The pacing & writing is making me feel so crazy! I hate it! I want to really love this show because of the set design & overall story. They make it so hard though. I hope they filmed them simultaneously. I noticed some pacing issues with last season too. But this season was just really noticeable. They need more episodes. I feel like this new trend of seasons that are 10 episodes & below are just terrible! Especially when they are released years apart. For character & story building there just has to be more.
