Three Idiots (세 얼간이)

I feel like Ung was always capable and has been there for his friends despite his own struggles. If they let him. And I think this way because Ji-ung doesn't know that Ung was adopted. They spent all their lives together being practically brothers, and Ji-ung tells Ung about his troubles with his mom, but somehow (it BOGGLES my mind), he doesn't know that Ung's parents aren't Ung's biological parents. SOMEBODY correct me if i am wrong here, but I've watched this show at least 10 times and I've never seen any sign of Ji-ung knowing Ung's full backstory. And that means whenever Ji-ung came to Ung with his mom problems, he always listened and was always there, but never told him, guess what, I had a scumbag of a dad that abandoned me in the streets and god knows whatever happened to my birth mom. I have nightmares about it every single night. I feel ya. I think the part where he shared this story with Yeon-su and then asking to go with him in the epilogue is where he shows "growth" and shows vulnerability. As for Ji-ung, I think he needs to fully recognize the "piece" that he was missing from his life. Yes, it was his mom. But to be more exact, I think it really is someone who is supposed to love him no matter what. It comes down to having stability, a rock that he could rely on, something that is constant and unwavering. Like how a parent's love should be. Realizing that he already has that in Ung, Ung's parents, and Chae-ran, should help him a great deal. And also finally getting to know and understanding his mother for who she is--shooting her documentary--will finally give him the peace that he deserves.

Man, what an emotionally raw episode.
