that restaurant scene is so iconic, both of their acting was amazing but him crying was something else...that's probably the most talked scene of this drama

Eunho has some steel nerves for still rejecting him after seeing him cry like that

The six main actors in this drama have portrayed their roles very well, especially Ji Chang-Wook and Kim Ji-won. I hope they can take on more good scripts in the future. They are fully capable of shaping various roles. Eun-o's breakup was cruel to Park Jaewon, and she deeply regrets her actions. Episodes 12 and 15 explain the reasons why the female lead would do that. I do not support her approach, but I fully understand the reasons why she would make such a choice. This drama not only discusses how to have a healthy relationship, but also the issue of self-identity. The friendship line is also very touching. Why does Eun-o live with his kindergarten friends? There were some incomprehensible points in the first few episodes, and everything that happened in the end seemed reasonable. All the choices they made were in line with their respective personalities. So this drama is really more interesting to revisit than to watch it for the first time. Every time I rewatch this drama, I have new discoveries and new feelings.

Paper Tiger

I would recommend watch Ji Chang-Wook in Healer, which to this is still my favorite drama of his.

Shakira

The scene where he confronted her, demanding to know why she left him, completely shattered me. I was in tears, bawling my eyes out. His performance was so raw and powerful, it hit me deep. Honestly, you should watch Healer too, where he also plays the male lead. It’s just as emotional, and his acting in that one is equally heartbreaking.

Loh

Omg, I didn’t expect that scene to be so heartbreaking 💔

That tearjerker scene breaks me every time. And that is why, even though I understand Eun-o's inner turmoils, I will never forgive her for how she handled this breakup. I mean, I am all for self-preservation and putting yourself first, but she's doing this to the man she loves--and that's why she keeps pretending like she's all nonchalant about their relationship, because it makes no sense for someone to do this to a loved one. (Hell, I wouldn't even treat a stranger this way.) To me, what she's doing at this point of the story isn't self-preservation. She just has no civility nor respect for someone who was once important in her life--even if it was for a brief time. I also think our serial dater is crazy, but for future reference, because this idea will continue to pop up in k-dramas, there seems to be quite a majority of people in Korean culture where they think it's unnatural for opposite genders to be friends. There is a deep-rooted and collective belief that men befriend women that they are secretly (or subconsciously) attracted to and would jump into their pants if they ever get a chance. (Also, deep-rooted Confucius values covertly underlying the Korean culture used to say that children of opposite genders shouldn't even sit next to each other past the age 7 unless they're married or blood-related.) Which annoys the hell out of me because some of my best and oldest friends are boys (I'm a girl). The concept of opposite genders being purely friends is still rather novel in Korea--even though they pretend that it's the mature and fashionable thing for such friendship to exist in some of the recent cultural content. So if a character in k-drama goes loony over friends of opposite genders, such is quite overtly validated in the culture. There is also a social/cultural belief that the romantically significant other trumps all other relationships--therefore your girlfriend/boyfriend takes priority. It is what it is and pretty prevalent. So I suspect that her crazy was more about her wanting to be his "priority." (I don't remember her story very well, it's been a minute since I watched this show)

Manha

you guys need to see changwook in 'the worst of evil' and 'healer'. the man is an incredible actor.

Seelia

Come on guys, she was in love with him. They met, they both fell in love. He may have been more vocal about it but he was right that she also loved him. The real question is, why did she ghost him when her feelings were also real? If her feelings were not as deep as his, why does she follow him around like that? Why did she even bother to show herself to him? Why didn't she just mail his cameras to him, she could've asked someone else to write his address. Why would she even care if he knew who she really was? She's just torturing him and herself by hiding from him. That diner scene broke my heart. That kind of love is what most of us dream about. Ji Chang Wook is one of the most versatile actors in Korea. Not only is he gorgeous, that man can play strong fighter, endearing, silly, normal, pathetic, and just recently a villain. 😍 In real life, he's a complete Renaissance man too.

Seelia

After knowing the whole story, I think about how I would've handled that if I was in her shoes too.

Seelia

And he's the one who plays the dual personalities in Healer! 😂 That was my introduction to him. It reminded me of Superman and Clark Kent. 😍 Christopher Reeves version of course.

Seelia

Song Yeong, the school teacher, she's a walking red flag! 🤣😂 I love that she's open about her many relationships but she is so insecure about herself, she allows imaginary issues to break up her relationships. And yes, she's toxic when it comes to her breakups. I like that she knows that about herself, but she needs professional help, I think. 🤔

K.A

FYI: Eun-o mentioned her second reason in the last reaction (ep. 6). She doesn't want her friends to find out about her fake identity, nor does she want them to know that side of her.

Rita리리

that's JI CHANG WOOK for you! He can ACT. He'll swoop you into his character and make you experience every emotion as though it were happening for real. The emotional ride he took me on in his portrayal of Emperor Ta hwan,..I cried when he cried, I was happy when he was happy, i fell in love when he fell in love...(then fell for him looool). It was an adventure and I've never recovered. He had me riveted from the first 2 minutes of Empress Ki. Add him to your watchlist. He brings every character to life. Plus he's the best kisser in kdramaland

Rita리리

Euno loves Jaewon. She's not rejecting him cause of love. It's cause she's too ashamed of lying about her identity and too scared that he would not love the real her. It's too high of a risk to take. She also doesn't believe that she deserves his honest love, that's why she keeps pushing him away. If only Jaewon was a normal guy, he would take the hint and leave. But thank God he's not.

Aishah

Ji chang Wooks scene when he was crying is in my top drama scenes, it felt so real especially when his voice cracked when he said 'really'. I recommed The Worst of Evil / If you wish upon me / Suspicious Partner. All very different genres but his range is crazy. One of the best actors, he will always deliver.

Seelia

He doesn't have abandonment issues Justin! 😑😂 I think the show has established that Jaewon is a normal working man who just wants to be in love. It IS possible in real life to find the one you've always been looking for and instantly know they are what you've wanted all your life.

Manha

his performances in if you wish upon me and the worst of evil are sooooo good and at the same time sooooo underrated.

Samy

I’m very late to this but that Ji Chang Wook confession? scene is a masterpiece, the way man emotes is like none! Still balled my eyes, he’s sooo good 😭💔 Exactly how could she do that to him even witnessing how broken he is and tbh other than being a little clingy man had no faults. Really hope you check him out more.

Lina

Empress ki is my fav drama of his , truly a masterpiece❤️
