The dad is not just bad-tempered, he is violent. Her dad is a good father because he raised her by himself with the help of her uncle. At the same time his "temper" is unacceptable and not funny. And for sure, Bok-Joo made a mistake. But you won't solve her mis-guided thinking and immaturity by screaming at her and driving her to tears. At least the coach tried to understand her, but even she with her stick... Violence is not the answer. End of my tedtalk. 😅

What's sad is that even now there are parents who hit their kids, and they don't even think it's wrong and think they have the right to do so. :"(

It is sad and it isn't good parenting. I believe in psychology using violence to discipline is called negative conditioning. You are punishing without providing a positive framework. In Germany (where I'm from) this type of physical punishment in an educational context was called black pedagogy by the new teachers/ education reformers in the 1970s when they reformed the whole education system. Since then physical punishment has been forbidden in Germany, at least in schools. Later on it was made illegal for a parent to hit their child. It's sad that this is still legal in some countries.

Right, and I'm glad to hear it's forbidden there. I'm from India and I think in schools it's not allow, atleast it wasn't allowed in my school, though at home it still persists. :"(
