I understand your thoughts on Takashi Mori and Lee Wanik's deaths. However, I think it was maybe an active choice to do it that way. They do not deserve more impactful or embellished deaths. It's more like excising a tumour eating away at Joseon so it's people can thrive. The focus is on the people who survive such despicable villains.

Aeshin’s mother, Kim Jiwon, had a brother named Song Yeong, who appeared as a North Korean soldier in Descendants of the Sun. They are both part of the Righteous Army and the “descendants of the sun.” I love these kinds of connections! And you might have noticed, the actor who plays the King of Joseon in Mr. Sunshine is the same actor who played the doctor in Descendants of the Sun. In that drama, he was childhood friends with the short-haired nurse and eventually became a couple with her.
