This show's really wild. It doesn't matter whether they're family and you can't just assume the person would want to donate to their family member either. It may seem like red tape, but there are lots of protocols and laws in place to ensure people's rights are not abused. Making a decision like this as a doctor is the same as asking to be de-registered. It's not just about potential legal repercussions alone. There are reasons why some surgeons are undeniably talented, but banned from working in many countries and spend more time in and out of courts and suspended until further notice rather than doing what they do best. No-one is above laws and systems in place for safeguarding patients. When you have surgeons with cowboy attitudes, there will always be casualties.
