In response to your “is anyone regular in this town?” question: remember that because of the nemoton being reactivated, the town is a beacon for supernatural creatures once again so that’s why there’s more likely to be a lot of them around in town

That's one of the reasons. Another is that he has less experience in being a werewolf and fighting than most other characters. Up to this point, every supernatural creature we've seen was born like that or was turned a long time ago. They all had time to adjust and train, unlike Scott who spends most of his time repressing his supernatural side. I surmised this when he fought Isaac and Erica.
