This news struck a cord with me. This year for me has been probably the worst on record for me. Both of my dogs passed away a month apart, my girlfriend dumped me, and because we work together and ran a business I lost my dream job and my girlfriend all in one swoop, my mother is going through some pretty severe memory loss and has gotten violent after I had to move back home to take care of her, and I got in a car wreck this week. Just seems like one of those times where we all gotta pull together to weather out our own storms.

I'm not a huge true Mega64 fan, I like what they do but have only been sorta engaged with it for it's whole life. More recently I've been keeping up with the podcast, it's one of my go-tos for weekly podcasts. I've never bought merch, not because of any issues I'm just not into merch. I bought the fairwell tour bluray on a whim (I actually haven't popped it open yet sorry). But I've seen a lot of Youtube channels or new groups really turn things around with Patreon (Eric Badour included). $7 CAD a month is a comfortable spend to have a Mega64 exclusive feed to see by popping onto Patreon. Don't be afraid to really ... sell yourself for lack of a better term. I just mean, bring up Patreon exclusive content, advertise yourself in your podcast for sure but even in videos. A classic move would be to do supplimentary podcasts exclusive to Patreon (and not to a specific tier). That's not really Mega64 style I get it, but the merch fiends can only buy so many shirts and things. But subscribing to content is easier (cheaper per person), and a more organic and convenient spend for me at my computer or on my phone. And we as viewers are dumb and have the memory of a goldfish so I do need regular reminders. Also I just subscribed for the first time so sorry if you're already doing this stuff and I'm oblivious. And of course merch is always great and lets me get excited about loving Mega64. I don't really ... get how Youtube channels make money. And Mega64 was around so long I just sorta assumed it was evergreen somehow. But this direct call out helps me understand and makes me happier to support you than ever. Love you all, I don't wanna change you. I hope you get to feel more confident and excited about the future moving forward.

When Version 2 came out we got a bunch of friends together to watch it. Then a couple years later they started the podcast and that really brought things to a deeper level. What I love about Mega64 though, is that I can say I've been watching them since before YouTube existed. They are pioneers. Life wouldn't be the same without them.

The one thing I hope you take away is to have more public game experiments, or at the very least, more content about video games.
