What the fuck is this shit. Just kidding this is one of my all time favorites. So glad you guys did an ep on it. I’m gonna rewatch it before I listen

Mary and Steve

I love the old Actor that looks a little like Mark Hamill The scene where Mark’s mom is running camera is so funny, it’s like Steve and I filming shorts.

Brenden

I remember watching this back when Shawn did the like Covid watch along with this and Cat in the Hat.

How did Johnny end up in the 70's?

Austin Ryder

Great episode!! Am sorta confused though cos I got an email saying the Random Access Memories episode was live and was stoked but now it’s gone?

You are accurate. Midwest is all drinking. Check out red letter media sometime Different culture from the coasties 👌

There's so many lightening in a bottle and accidentally profound moments, Mark trying to steal Mikes scratch card winnings, the thanksgivings day rant about not wanting to work in a factory, the discussion about how to pronounce ''Coven'', the unexpectedly touching moment where Mike finally comes out of his shell and screams into the microphone. I haven't even seen the movie in like 8 or 9 years but these moments just stick with me so much. Quotable as fuck too. "Is that what you want to do with your life? Suck down peppermint schnapps and try to call Morocco at 2 in the morning?''. Classic, 5 stars.

Drinking is definitely a part of Midwest life. When it's middle of the winter, not much else to do

Yeah there is a definite drinking culture in the Midwest, gonna guess it has a few reasons why: winter making there less to do overall outside drinking, settlers of these areas came from drinking cultures such as the Norse and Gaelic primarily, and finally science has found multiple studies confirming a link between colder climates and drinking increasing for a variety of reasons. We love our beer and liquor that's for sure, NE Ohio is like a mecca for indie breweries!

You should do an episode of the movie Overnight 2003. It's about the making of the indy movie Boondock Saints and the turmoil associated with that story. I think it is an underrated movie. I don't want to spoil the movie but it's a cautionary tale. It's kind of similar genre to American Movie.

Good episode!

Been wanting to watch this since AVGN would talk about this movie as a huge inspiration. Never knew it was on Amazon. This is amazing, it’s like watching Gummo and Trailer Park Boys. They have got to do an episode on the Gothic King Cobra doc at some point.
