Hell yeah, Movie Club

I heard someone speculate the ending of this movie and it somehow just rang so true that I almost went into this movie knowing the ending so while it didn’t surprise me as much, I definitely dug the themes and am glad Jesse Plemons is in a leading role. I love love loved the first 2 episodes of Plur1bus and haven’t seen the third yet but I’d say what I saw so far felt like a good 2 part pilot/ intro so maybe that would make for a cleaner review. I imagine episode 3 is gonna get into some shit more. (Minor spoilers) I totally love how it’s getting into the same philosophical debates as human instrumentality from End of Eva and the fact it’s starting with that as a premise has me so excited. Feel free to do weekly episode reviews honestly.

I was hoping it would get brought up but this is based off of the older Japanese movie called Save The Green Planet. Maybe you guys could do a movie club on that eventually

I know yall weren’t interested in Eddington but it feels like another side of the coin to a lot of the themes Bugonia explores

Liked this one but I didn't love it. I primarily contribute it to watching Save The Green Planet before this, the movie Bugonia is based on. In the end I thought Bugonia ended up being too similar to it. Better in most ways, but not different enough. Poor Things still my favorite of his.

This was a weird movie because I thought it’d be weirder knowing the director. I felt I knew what was going to happen from Don using the shotgun and the reveal at the end. Then again, Teddy’s hidden room with dead bodies legit scared me thinking the movie was going to turn into Terrifier. Best use of Green Day in a movie in recent memory. Also, when Teddy kills his mom and escapes through the window, the nurse yells “Hey! ….Hey!” In the same cadence as Johnny in Version 4.1.

save the green planet is a south korean movie, the original south korean production studio is even in the opening credits, cj entertainment or something. definitely worth checking out if you liked bugonia.
