The reason they went at night to catch squid is because they lurk around during that time and the big strong lights attracts squid as they are attracted by light. Its easier to catch them (THIS IS INFO FROM MY DAD IDK ANYTHING)

Most people (that I know of) here in Asia would prefer women to be younger than men in a relationship. My mom is older than my dad and our neighbors reacted negatively when hearing it. Not intense though, just like a negative "oh" reaction. Some celebrity parents in South Korea were turned off when knowing their son is in a relationship with an older woman. It's kind of a prejudice here that when a man is older than a woman, he tends to take care of her better. And since a man matures later than a woman, it's better for a man to be older or the woman will deal with a childish boyfriend. (not all) Although in some cases, people starts saying "age doesn't matter", which is true unless if the other one is a minor. (:
