The cyberpsychosis actually feels a lot like a CPTSD/PTSD euphemism. The fact it seems to be worsened by trauma and dehumanization, the lapses in time where you feel like you're jumping around, particularly between the past and present, the sudden aggression or agitation. These are pretty close to what it's like to have PTSD. Especially where Maine was being "triggered" by senses of danger and David in his capture when the guy was making him experience psychosis, where it was like David felt like he was making decisions but his body was doing something out of his control, it tends to feel like that. Something triggers you, your body reacts in fight/flight/freeze, then next thing you know, people are acting like you lost your damn mind or you have lapses in memory that make you feel like you lost it. Plus nightmares, insomnia, or feeling like you're stuck in a certain moment in time. I wondered if that was the inspiration behind cyberpsychosis or if this show is an allegory for trauma and stuff (if so, holy Hel, that's depressing, given the outlook on it lol) Gods, imma need therapy after the ending 😅 the eerie music plus the visuals and the bg of screaming.. so poignant.
