Anyone here remember actually watching 1999 anime? 😂 I'm totally revealing my age here, but man.. there were so many old gems. But ya, I feel like anime in general used to have much heavier, darker themes. Much bloodier and violent, heavy themes like rape and such that was much more explicitly portrayed. (Ie. Outlaw Star.. Gods know I was WAY too young to watch that show 🫣) I don't remember the name, but there was one I rented about a vampire girl massacreing a whole village in revenge and it was chock-full of nudity, graphic depictions of violent death scenes, and just so.. so much blood 😅 in fact, I think red was the only non-monochromatic color in that anime and so they made it a point to have it everywhere. Sex was also more obvious back then, like in the early episodes of Evangelion. It was a very different atmosphere, I tell you. Plus, back then parents were like "cartoons are for kids~" so they didn't even try to monitor what I was watching when it came to that (not that they did much anyway. My mom doesn't believe in censoring the world from kids because then they may grow up ignorant and sheltered like she was and get themselves into bad situations. Worked for me most of the time, but "Cartoon world" was probably something I shouldn't have watched until I was a little older 😅 Or Halloween..) Anyway, I wonder what the ant arc would look like in the 1999 version if they had gotten that far 🤔 as bad as the new one is horrifically portrayed, ya'll might've been traumatized if watched it in the old style. (Kinda wish they kept Kurapika an acrobatic badass like this tho) P.s. forgot to say it last episode, but "enter exhibit unknown number of my Gon is completely and utterly psycho and I'm so glad he learned good morals, case." Lol the boy legit told that dude "sorry, I almost killed you, haha!" And really meant it. He flipped a switch and about demolished his own teammate 😳 He's losing some screws

Haven't seen the 1999 fight in ages. Animation, lighting, chain sound, and choreography still fire but fans saying the tone isn't 90s edge are tripping 😂. Taking 1 contact out, praying before the fight, the focus on how upset Kura was(his non chalant style stoic is canon) with him clutching his face on his knees, falling to the ground after BBI so 1st time watchers think he may be hurt, and sad Izunabi with no nen lessons.

So Blinky can only suck up "non-living" things. But Nen Abilities are vibes based. So she can take blood but not necessarily webs. Also... she isn't very smart.
