222’s tracksuit and the baby being wrapped in 456’s tracksuit really gets to me. We need good people around us, guiding us and protecting us. That way we learn how to live and love the right way. It’s easy to fall into the wrong path, but simply caring for each other truly makes the difference. My interpretation of why Inho had inconsistency in his philosophies and breaking his own code is bc Gihun was the first and only person to show him what a selfless person is. I think if he never met Gihun, Inho would’ve consistently been narcissistic, soulless person for the rest of his life. But Gihun made him question his own life’s decisions and morals so he bent a lot of his own rules to really test Gihun to his limits. And that very last look Inho made as he drove away showed me that Gihun truly changed his perspective on life.

Wow its so much fun to watch you guys not only enjoy the show but also have such a long discussion interpreting the meaning behind everything that happened. I think with 333 he did have quite a consistent character from start, he cares for Jun hee and the baby but not at the cost of his life or the money he can make in the game by eliminating other people Even before joining the game he did screw over his viewers by making them invest in MG coin and then when he got a chance he joined squid game without even thinking about Jun Hee or the baby When the lunch box killed himself, 333 didn't want to let Gi Hun proceed because he knew he won't be able to overpower Gihun or kill him and not in his wildest thought he would think Gihun will sacrifice for him or the baby. Yes in the end 333 would just let go of the baby and win because thats just who he is. There was never a redemption arc for him, he never felt sorry for people who lost money because of him, the moment he saw Jun Hee there his first thought was to combine both their prize money and invest again in some shady high risk opportunity and we all saw what he did in t he hide and seek game. I think Gihun did win, because not only he proved that In Ho's ideology that all humans are trash completely wrong but also becasue of his plan b they did have to vacate and destroy their island. Even if the game will not stop and they will make the Korean squid game somewhere else but still it did put a dent in their operation, which does count as a win. In Ho hates Gihun, because whatever reasons he have been giving till now for what he had done in the past and in the games nullified when Gihun proved to him that Humans are what they choose to be. I think the reason he gave the money to Gihun's daughter becasue Gihun would have never wanted his daughter to use the blood money. Gihun never tried to send or spend the blood money for his daughter and In Ho messed that up. Finally coming to Jun Ho. When i first watched the finale I was so pissed off at him. Like what was he even doing there not killing In Ho. But after giving it thought I realised, Jun Ho doesn't want his brother back nor he wants to kill him, he just want closure. He wants to know the reason his brother who gave his kidney to save his step brother turns out to be the front man of such a cruel game. Also I don't think he gave up on looking for In Ho, and thats the reason In Ho gave the baby to Jun Ho to give him a reason to stay away from him and the whole squid game thing.

I dont think 333 believed there was any chance gihun would sacrifice himself, i think once it was the 3 of them, he thought immediately that gihun would try to kill him, or just come across the platform, hit the button, and kill the baby to win. I think the tragedy of it is at that point it never crossed 333s mind that gihun would even care to keep the baby alive. I think it made him face his own selfishness and horribleness that he was confronted with this stranger who made a promise being a better person and more protective of his baby than he was. He didnt trust it and couldnt trust it because he didnt believe other people were not selfish, and it rubbed in his face exactly how horrific he was. I do believe he would have wanted to keep the baby alive if the lunchbox was alive, but even then im not sure he wouldnt have still tried to kill gihun first, out of greed or self preservation, because at the very end i think he really thought he couldnt trust anyone. I wouldnt have been surprised if killing the baby still may have occured to him either though, he seemed fascinated in an almost out of body way with how much he could/would do for money, and i have a feeling that impulsively, if he had somehow killed gihun and not had 'witnesses' and just been him and the baby, he might have killed it to avoid the responsibility of raising it. I also think he thought of himself as protective and told himself he would have done the right things if he had different options, but in reality i think 333 was impulsively selfish and i even think he would have killed 222 for hating him and not aborting, especially if there was a scenario where he would have been able to justify his actions as self defense or the 'only' good choice. I dont think he was calculatingly wanting her or the baby gone, or even necessarily the whole time wanting to be the only one at the end...i think he was impulsively selfish and opportunistic and it showed in the hide and seek game too, he didnt necessarily go into it thinking he would kill more people for money, but then he had a chance to do it and convinced himself it was for protection afterward. Throughout the show tbh i thought he would kill 222 if he had a chance to have less guilt about it, because i think he didnt want to feel guilty over her, but didnt want responsibility either, he had two warring sides...wanting to seem like a good guy, and yet putting himself first every time even his greed was more important to him than others lives...she only was valuable to him as an extension of him. I think thats also why he couldnt understand gihun wanting to protect the baby for a stranger.

Humans are..complex. I had to sit w the ending for a while and also see a few rxns to realize as much as we want the happy ending. It was actually very fitting and more realistic. And some quite powerful moments that brought me to tears. Like when he said goodbye to the baby and he falls off. The blowing up of the island(which was also a goodbye to the literal sets/series..at least the Korean version) and the daughter finding out her dad passed. And yes the small victories do mean something(the little girl that got her dad back and isn’t sick anymore, saebyoeks mom and bro reuniting, baby surviving by keeping his promise to 222, and his daughter being set for life), that’s the hope and faith in humanity gihun was fighting for. And considering the writer who is also the director only originally planned this as 1season like most kdramas, but he made no money on it (which is so messed up). So I don’t blame him for making the other seasons to get a better deal with Netflix. There are def unanswered questions But ideally he wanted to end it with the first, so he did a good job overall i think.  As for why frontman kept doing this i feel like after his wife died and seeing that he brutally killed all those guys to win his season he felt like he was too far gone to maybe return to civilization and act normal. Also partially why I feel Gihyun dying prob was best. Cuz he actually had a conscious. And considering how broken he was after 1st season there was no way he’d be able to live with the survivors guilt if he got out this time
